"Welcome to Betty's diner, what can I get you today?" I smile as I hear the bell above the door ring
"Hola Mija" My dads voice fills my ears and my smile widens as I look up
"Papa!" I happily say as I hug him and he chuckles
"How come you're here" I ask him
"Me and officer Sanchez wanted some coffee so I decided to show him the best place in town" He explains and I pull away from the hug to see who i'm assuming is his new rookie
"Hi, I'm Delilah" I softly say as I stretch out my hand to greet him
"Hey, I'm Antonio" He smiles and my dad grins
"Why don't you order for us Antonio, i'm just going to use the bathroom" Papa says and he nods
"Of course sir" He replies before dad walks away and I walk around the counter
"What would you like?" I ask Antonio and he looks at the menu for a second
"Well I would like a latte and I'm hoping you can score me some points with your dad by telling me what his go to order is" He replies and I giggle
"Papa is a very simple man, he only likes black regular coffee so i'll pour that up. What size latte would you like?" I question
"A medium, thank you" He politely replies and I nod before moving to the coffee machine
"Are you new to town?" I ask him seeing as dad said he was showing him places
"Mhm, I moved here after finishing the academy"
"That's nice, are you liking it here?"
"Well we've been so busy with work so I haven't seen much but so far it's been good" He explains and I nod
"Have you been to the pier yet? It's amazing"
"No, not yet. I'll try and check it out"
"Yea, you should. There are so many nice places around here, I have a bunch of hidden spots in this town that I love, you'll have a lot to discover" I tell him and he smiles
"Maybe you can show me around?" He says and I look up at him to see he's already looking at me
"Yea, maybe" I softly smile before handing him the two coffees
"Where'd you move from?"
"Costa rica" He says and I grin
"Really? Oh I haven't been in so long"
"Papa is from Costa rica but I was born here. We visit when we can but we haven't been able to go in ages" I start to ramble and he smiles
"It was a hard decision but I got such a great offer after the academy and I wanted something new so, here I am" He explains before picking up his coffee and taking a sip
