As the sun rises on Berk, Hiccup is putting a new black tail on toothless, this tail has the ability of the red one but it is fire proof and although toothless does not like it, Hiccup convinces Toothless that he won't take off the saddle. Toothless reluctantly, agrees to allow him to put it on, but he growls at it once it is on him. He only stops when Astrid and Stormfly come along with Valka and Cloudjumper. Then the other dragon riders end up appearing around Hiccup.

Hiccup: Does anyone not know about our little trip to wherever Toothless is taking us?

Astrid: Well, come on, you didn't really think that I would let my chief have only two people protecting him. There is a good, chance that Grimmel might follow you since you have the nightfuries and he wants the nightfuries not Berk.

Hiccup: I guess you're right.

Astrid: I know I'm right.

The rest of the dragon riders laugh. They finish some minor adjustments and fly off with Toothless in the lead. Dusk is cuddled up in Hiccup's arms and sleeping as he had not wanted to wake up so early and so Toothless had had to carry him over.

Fishlegs: (Meatlug starts to fly even with Toothless) Hey Hiccup, I have something for you.

Hiccup: What?

Fishlegs: It's a pouch for Dusk at least it should carry him if it is attached to your saddle.

Hiccup: Thanks Fishlegs. I'll be sure to use it.

Fishlegs is able to fly steadily enough next to Hiccup and Toothless to attach the bag on to Toothless's saddle.

Valka: You and that baby dragon have bonded quite well. He doesn't even seem to bite you anymore.

Hiccup: (is trying to gently slide Dusk into the saddle pouch) Yeah. I think that was just because he didn't know me well but I don't think he'll bite me again. (as Hiccup slides Dusk into the saddle pouch, Dusk wakes up startled and bites down on Hiccup's arm so hard that Hiccup falls off Toothless. Toothless then dives and when Toothless catches them Dusk lets go of Hiccup's arm and snuggles back in his arms) Not a word. (Everyone starts laughing, except Hiccup who has a embarrassed and irritated look on his face, even Toothless is laughing)

They fly for a while taking breaks to rest wings but eventually they have to turn in for the night at  an island that is quite big and they set up tents.

Hiccup: How much farther, bud? (Toothless nudges Hiccup before sniffing through his things and then grabbing his map with his mouth and dropping it at his feet. Hiccup opens up the map and expands the map to include the new islands that they saw on the way to this island. Toothless then makes a gesture that shows the journey should be at most another day or half a day's journey) Okay, bud. I'm counting on you.

Hiccup then gives Toothless a scratch on the head and returns to the others who are goofing around the fire with the twins are telling scary stories, as Snotlout makes fun of them, and everyone else is either rolling their eyes, laughing, or somewhat scared at what they are seeing. The next day they spend another full day traveling and arrive at a island that is decently close to where Toothless wants to be but despite Toothless trying to push farther. Hiccup says that they will go in the morning and arrive there.  They set up camp and in the morning Hiccup gets up and wakes up Astrid. Hiccup goes to wake up the others but only sees Fishlegs and Meatlug up.

Hiccup: Where is the rest of the group?

Fishlegs: Valka was worried about how exposed we are out here, so she took Eret and Snotlout. The Twins decided to sleep in.

Hiccup: So, it just us three I guess. (They all mount up, this time not carrying nearly as much stuff as they had been carrying before, as they were first going to see what Toothless had to show them before they went ahead and tried to camp there. This time Dusk was awake and excitedly wiggling on Toothless's back.) (They come up upon the same huge waterfall that Toothless and Dusk had come across earlier). (whispering) A waterfall at the edge of the world.
