It's been few months after that incident. Nivi is in 6th month now. She stopped going to work when she was in 4th.
Looking after Bittu, managing herself itself was taking lot of energy even with full support from Vivaan and house full of maids.
She will be too tired to work after that. All she would be doing going to office was sleep. So she decided to quit working and Mittu was the happiest about it.
"Come on treasure. I am there to look after us. You don't have to strain yourself." He said to her one day when she was sulking about staying home doing nothing.
"You have made me lazy. I couldn't even dry my hair now. It's all your fault." She said scowling.
He smiled shaking his head drying and gently detangling her hair, while she sat on the couch leaning back, her long hair spread on the head rest that was falling back of the couch.
"It's not laziness. You need lot of rest. So do that. Isn't that right pumpkin?" He said, bending to her bump talking to the baby to which he got a kick in response making him grin.
But her ocd to keep the house mess free doesn't let her sit calmly. She would be behind Bittu and peaches, chiding them, rearranging the things that they misplaced or thrown away. The maids would be cleaning the house and putting everything back to place. But after they left she will be incharge much to Mittu's dismay.
It is one of the nights where she woke up hungry. Slowly getting up from the bed, checking if she woke up Mittu, came to the kitchen already breathing heavily.
It's not a joke when the doc said bump now will feel heavier and drooping than the first time. She feels like she was carrying twins. She had to confirm multiple times with the doctor whether it's twins or not, because it's that heavy for her.
"You are having healthy pregnancy than the first one Nivi. It's normal to feel this weight. Your baby the first time was under weight, that's why you didn't feel the heaviness at that time." She said checking her first pregnancy reports.
Well that could also be the reason. She is happy now without any worries. As promised Mittu was pampering her like she is a baby. He is the best husband one could get.
He planned so many surprises, wrote letters for her saying how beautiful she looks and how happy their lives been, more than often.
Even after a hectic day, he would be by her side during night, talking to her, gossiping about silly things, making her laugh, massaging her swollen feet and painful back, untill she sleeps.
He would prepare dishes for her with Bittu helping him, whatever she was craving for without complaining.
Peaches followed her to the kitchen, giving a small bark. "Shh, don't make noise. Your dad will wake up." She scolded turning on the lights.
Waggling it's tail it left kitchen leaving her.
She was searching the cupboards to find anything to eat. Well kitchen is fully stocked, not missing a single thing, thanks to her over concerned husband, now she is confused on what to eat.
Peaches who was told to keep quite did the exact opposite. She woke up Mittu by licking his face.
"What is it?" He asked groggily squinting his eyes. It jumped on to the bed on Nivi's empty space. He sighed when he realised Nivi is not in bed.
"Your mom won't listen, will she?" He asked sitting up rubbing his face, earning a small bark in return.
"She told you not to wake me ha? Come on we will check what she is doing." He said walking out of their room, with peaches following him wagging it's tail.
Well, he froze in his steps his breath hitching looking at her. She looked beautiful. She was in one of his button down shirts and short, hair pulled into a messy bun on top of her head, she was taking packets looking at it and keeping it again inside, biting into a chocolate and tamarind?!
"I told you to wake me." He spoke startling her. She yelled, the snack pack falling from her hands as she held the counter balancing herself, startled by the sudden voice.
He rushed to her holding her, feeling stupid for startling her like that. "I am sorry! I didn't realise you will not notice." He said apologetically turning her to him. "Are you ok?" He asked cupping her face.
She nodded taking shaky breaths. "Yea. I am fine."
"Did she wake you? I told you not to." Nivi said glaring at peaches, who ran into Bittu's room to sleep.
"I told you to wake me treasure. You were already complaining about braxton pains. What if something happens?" Mittu chided gently, guiding her to the couch.
"I am fine Mittu. You are worrying too much." She said supporting her bump and sitting slowly on the couch.
"You relax. I will get something for you to eat." He said adjusting the pillows around her making sure she was comfortable and left to the kitchen to make her a grilled sandwich.
"Thank you! This is what I was craving for I think." She said devouring the sandwich that he made, making him smile.
He sat on the carpeted floor infront of her and took her feet, placing them on his lap he started massaging them.
She heaved a relieved sigh relaxing in her position, feeling the stress leave her body with his foot massage and the sandwich he made.
"You are an angel Mittu. I feel like I am in heaven." She said taking a bite and closed her eyes.
He chuckled and kissed her foot. "All I had to do was prepare you food and you feel grateful? It's so easy to please you baby." He said rubbing soothing circles on her sole.
"I am low maintenance." She said smiling smugly.
"That you are. That's why I like spoiling you." He said getting up, taking the paper bag from the table infront of them.
He took out a small box and opened it to reveal the contents.
"This is for you." He said showing her a beautiful heart pendant dangling on a gold chain.
"It's beautiful." She said tracing the pendants with her fingers. "But why did you buy Mittu. I have whole sets of jewellery, some of them I haven't even worn yet. And again you bought a new one." She whined.
"As I said I like spoiling you." He said putting it on her neck. "Don't remove it ok? I love this on you." He said pushing back some of the free hair that escaped her bun.
"Mmm ok ok. I am happy too. Easy there now." She said rubbing her bump smiling.
"She is kicking?" He asked smiling along with her, placing his hand on her bump.
"He got excited all of a sudden." She said shaking her head.
"And it's a boy." She added with a narrowed gaze. "No treasure. I think it's a girl, beautiful girl, just like you" he said kissing her bump.
"You won't like it if it's a boy?" She asked frowning.
"Why wouldn't I?! I will love who ever it is angel. Why would you think that its a boy?" He said keeping his chin on his hands, tiliting his head up to look at her.
"I don't know. Say it's a mother's instinct. I feel like it's a boy." She said rubbing her bump slowly.
"Let's see then."
"Hmm let's see."
