ContinuationAs the seconds ticked by, the tension thickened, suffocating the space between them. Joy's heart raced; her breaths were shallow and uneven. The weight of the fury bore down on her, a heavy reminder of past mistakes.
"Rose, please, let's talk about this," Jisoo implored, her voice tinged with concern and desperation, her eyes shifting between Rose's fiery gaze and Joy's trembling figure.
But Rose's anger refused to be tamed. "Talk? After what she did? After all these years?" Her voice cracked with emotion; the hurt beneath the rage was palpable. "You vanished, and she-" Rose's words faltered, the raw pain of betrayal choking her.
"I'm sorry," Joy managed to utter, her voice barely audible amidst the charged atmosphere.
"Sorry? Sorry doesn't cut it!" Rose's voice thundered, her fists clenched at her sides. "You destroyed everything!"
Jisoo stepped closer, her voice a plea. "Rose, I know it's difficult, but we can work this out. Please, let's find a way to heal."
Rose's eyes softened for a fleeting moment, the storm within her momentarily quelled by Jisoo's words. But the hurt ran too deep, and the wounds were too fresh. "Why don't you understand, Jisoo?" she whispered, her voice strained with emotion. "Everything fell apart because of her."
Silence enveloped them, heavy and suffocating. Each of them is trapped in their own whirlwind of emotions-regret, anger, and a yearning for resolution.
"I'll leave," Joy finally said, her voice trembling and filled with pain.
"Yeah, leave her alone!" Rose said even after she was very well aware of the harshness of her words, and as soon as those words ranged into Joy's ears, a wave of guilt ran over her entire soul, and she left from there without uttering a single word. At this moment, both Jisoo and Rose are left in an unbearable silence on the walls.
As Joy left, the room seemed to crackle with the residual energy of her departure. Jisoo turned to face Rose, who stood rigid, her fists clenched tightly at her sides, her eyes ablaze with fury.
"How could she...?" Rose's voice trembled with a barely contained rage, her words laced with intense bitterness. "How could Joy do this to us?"
Jisoo approached cautiously, her heart aching for both of her friends. "Rose, I can't fathom her actions either. But maybe-"
"Don't!" Rose's interruption was sharp, her anger pulsating in every word. "Don't defend her, Jisoo. You know what she did."
Tears welled up in Jisoo's eyes as she struggled to bridge the growing chasm between them. "I'm not defending her, Rose. I just don't want us to be torn apart because of this."
"Too late for that," Rose spat out bitterly, her voice dripping with resentment. "She destroyed everything."
A heavy silence engulfed them, the air thick with unresolved emotions. Jisoo's attempts to mend the situation seemed futile against Rose's seething anger, a tempest of hurt and betrayal churning within her.
"I can't even look at you right now," Rose muttered, her voice strained with emotion as she turned away, the pain of betrayal etched deeply on her face.
Jisoo stood, her heart heavy, watching Rose retreat into the shadows of her seething emotions, their once unbreakable bond now fractured and hanging by a thread, the sting of betrayal leaving wounds too deep to easily heal.
As Rose turned away, her steps heavy with unresolved anger and hurt, Jisoo felt the weight of the silence suffocating her. The room seemed smaller, and the tension was almost palpable as their friendship teetered on the edge of irreparable damage.
