No Light-Florence and the Machines

You are the hole in my head
You are the space in my bed
You are the silence in between
What I thought and what I said

"Al, you here," you called from within your empty bedroom. Awaiting a response, all that was heard was the AC. Looking over from your spot on the bed, you could still see the evidence that he did indeed sleep next to you.

Slipping on some comfy house slippers, you made your way to the kitchen in your small apartment. Upon entering the kitchen, the smell of fresh coffee became apparent, but no one was there. There was still some coffee left in the pot, and a used mug sat near the sink. Shuffling around your home, you came to the conclusion that Al had left already.

"Strange, he normally doesn't even wake up till noon," you said while looking at the clock that showed it was only 8 in the morning. Releasing a sigh, you continued to prepare yourself for the day.

You are the night-time fear
You are the morning when it's clear
When it's over your start
You're my head, you're my heart

Looking out from the window of your job, you notice the pouring rain. "Perfect," you sarcastically mumbled. Ever since this morning, your day went down hill. First, you couldn't find your boyfriend Allen when you woke up. Next, your car wouldn't start, leading to you having to be picked up by a nearby coworker. And now you will have to walk home in the rain, or find some other mode of transportation, minus the coworker you drove with. He was just plain creepy, and his driving was terrible.

While staring at the pouring rain, you began to think about Al. Recently he had been acting a bit strange, and furthering himself from you. You practically had to beg him to spend the night. Instead of seeing his signature smirk, you would notice him looking off to space. When ever you would question his aloofness, he would simply growl and tell you, "It's nothing."
You clutched at your heart as your eyes looked down with sadness. "What's going on with you Al," you wondered as the rain poured down harder.

No light, no light in your bright blue eyes
I never knew daylight could be so violent
A revelation in the light of day
You can't choose what stays and what fades away

Holding the phone up to your ear, you listened to the familiar sound of Allen's voicemail. Sighing, you hanged up, and dialed someone more responsible, Oliver, Al's brother.
"Hello Poppet," Oliver's cheery voice answered almost immediately.
"Hey Oliver, I was wondering if you could pick me up from work,"
"Of course! I'll be there soon," he responded before hanging up.

Waiting outside, under the protection of a canopy, you awaited Oliver. While waiting, a familiar car passed by. Al's car. Almost in slow motion you saw him drive by, but instead of it just being him inside, you noticed another passenger. Jealousy flared within you at the sight of another girl in his car.

As the car drove along, and out of your eye sight, emotions swarmed within you. Jealousy, then sadness, and confusion. Thoughts swam throughout your head, wondering who that girl was, and why she was with your boyfriend. As you made assumptions, a hand waved in your face, snapping you out of your thoughts.

"Poppet, you all there," Oliver questioned.
"Huh? Oh, um, sorry Oliver, I was just...thinking about something," you said while looking down with sadness apparent in your eyes.

Noticing your sad expression, Oliver gave you a comforting smile and led you to his car.
While on the drive to your apartment, the question slipped from your mouth, "Who is she?"
"Who are talking about," Oliver asked confused.

Noticing your slip of the tongue, you looked at Oliver with wide eyes. "Nothing! I-," cutting you off with one of his concerned looks, you relaxed into your seat.
"What's going on with Allen, Oliver?"

The question seemed to shock Oliver, but he continued to drive quietly to your home.
Once you made it to your destination, Oliver looked over at you with a worried expression.

"(Y/N), I'm sure Allen has his reasoning for whatever is happening between the two of you. You just need to give him time to let him sort out what's happening in his mind. I'm sorry, but that's all I can say."

And I'd do anything to make you stay
No light, no light
No light
Tell me what you want me to say

Oliver's words replayed themselves throughout your head as you looked up at the ceiling from your bed. It was already passed midnight, but Al still wasn't there.

"Please, Allen, tell me what's happening," you said to the night air before drifting into sleep.

Unbeknownst to you, he heard you. Standing in the hallway, peering into your bedroom, Allen sighed with a frustrated face.

"I'm sorry (Y/N). I'll make it right, I promise," he whispered to your sleeping form.

Through the crowd, I was crying out
And in your place there were a thousand other faces
I was disappearing in plain sight
Heaven help me, I need to make it right

"Do you understand our agreement," Luciano asked with a sneer expression to the beaten American in front of him.

"If you dare touch her-"
"I wouldn't dream of it! A promise is a promise."

Looking down at the blood covered ground, Allen sighed before facing his enemy.
"I understand. Just...protect her," he said, giving in to the Italians scheme.

Leaving the base of the Axis, Allen released a sigh of defeat.

"I'm doing this for you (Y/N). For your safety," he told the night air before grabbing his baseball bat, and joining his new partner in his car.

"The names Tavia Nonay. I guess we will be working together," said the women in the passenger seat.

"Yeah, I guess so. Let's get going then," he said before starting the car, and driving to their first stop.

Throughout the night, screams were heard, and blood coated the ground along with Allen and Tavia.

You want a revelation,
You wanna get it right
But it's a conversation,
I just can't have tonight
You want a revelation
Some kind of resolution
You want a revelation

Waking up the next morning was the same as the last, except for the unexpected guest in your kitchen.

"Allen? Where have you been," you asked while rubbing the sleep from your eyes.

With a saddened expression he looked towards the floor. "(Y/N), I know I haven't been around as much, but don't forget that I love you, got it," he said.
"What's been going on? You can tell me anything," you asked while seating yourself across from him.

"I wish I could tell you, I really do. But you just gotta trust me, ok?"

"Al-," cutting you off with a kiss, he broke it quickly afterwards.

"I have to go. I'm sorry," he said before rushing to the door.

Would you leave me,
If I told you what I've done?
And would you need me,
If I told you what I've become?
'Cause it's so easy,
To say it to a crowd
But it's so hard, my love,
To say it to you out loud

Before he could leave you, you grabbed onto his upper arm.

"Please, tell me," you said with tears threatening to fall from your eyes.

Turning to face you, he felt his heart fall at your teary eyes.

"(Y/N)-"

"NO! Tell me now! I don't care what you've done, or the consequences. I need you Al, and I don't want you to leave me," you said as the tears finally fell.

Scooping your face in his large hands, he wiped the tears away with a sullen face.

"I don't even know where to start," he said after releasing a deep sigh.

"Start from the beginning," you pleaded.

You want a revelation,
You wanna get it right
But it's a conversation,
I just can't have tonight
You want a revelation, some kind of resolution
Tell me what you want me to say.

"I made a deal with the devil. In this case, a man named Luciano Vargas is the devil. He promised to protect you if I helped him. I couldn't see them hurt you so I agreed," he told you after you convinced him to stay.

"What did he make you do," you asked with a shaken voice.

"If I told you, you would hate me."

Shocked, you grasped his cheek. "I could never hate you Al, I love you too much. Please, tell me."

"I killed them. We had to kill them."

Shock overtook your face, but you pressed him to continue.

"I didn't want you to know this, but when I was younger, I messed around with the wrong crowd. Soon enough, my name spread around for my deeds. I tried to escape that life, but look where I'm at now. Luciano found me, and threatened me to do his dirty work. I was assigned a partner, and our job was to kill," he confessed.

You couldn't deny the fear that you held, but your arms seemed to move by themselves, wrapping your Al in a hug.

Soon enough, you felt wetness on your shoulder, and the sound of Allen's sobs joining your own.

The two of you clasped onto each other, and let all of your emotions out.

"I forgive you. I could never hate you, Allen. I love you just too much," you said into his ear as he began to calm down.

"Thank you," he said in between heavy breaths.

Releasing him from your hold, you walked to your window to let in some light in the depressing room. Grasping the curtains, you turned to give Allen an award winning smile.

Facing forward, you welcome the morning sun. Like a bullet, the suns rays pierced your skin, and following it, a bullet shot through the glass, striking you right in the chest.

Allen's screams were muffled by the ringing in your ears as you fell to the ground. Looking upward, you saw a blurry Allen above you. His mouth was moving, but you couldn't make out anything he said. Reaching up, he grasped your hand.

"I love you," you attempted to say, but you doubt that even came out right.

Soon, black spots began to fill your vision, replacing your sight of your beloved boyfriend.

"Don't leave me, please. I love you," you heard before everything went dark.

Author's Note: I would like to thank a friend of mine for helping me decide to make Al's female partner be 2p Haiti, or Tavia Nonay. Yes, you were shot! Allen wasn't supposed to tell you about the agreement between himself and Lucinao! Just because you were shot, that doesn't mean that you were killed though~
