IT WAS TIME FOR TRUTH OR DARE -- normally, if I wasn't drunk I would've refused and gone home but spoiler alert, I was drunk. I had taken a few more shots after what happened with Cassius in the pool and now I was sitting in a circle of 9 people excluding me, 4 people from school; Nathan, Bridget, Alainah, and Travis.I didn't know them very much and that was why I should've been nervous but the alcohol had dimmed the nerves and raised the relaxation. I was sitting in between Casper and Nathan. I had been unconsciously sticking close to Casper, trusting him more than others now that we were friends. We had shifted inside the living room, I was wearing Caspian's jacket who handed it to me to make sure I didn't get cold.
"There are only a few rules. No backing out after getting a dare or a personal truth," Nathan explained, keeping a beer bottle on the floor. "Who's going first?"
I looked around, keeping my hands to myself just as Adeline spoke up, "me," she said and reached forward, spinning the bottle and it spun for a while before stopping on Travis.
"Travis, truth or dare?" Adeline asked with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"Dare," he said, after thinking a while.
"I dare you to..." Adeline trailed off, looking around before her eyes, "Kiss Vivienne Bayard," she finished with a smirk as the circle erupted in a bunch of "ohhh" except I stayed quiet, smiling. Travis' face dropped as he stared at Adeline.
From what I know, Travis and Vivienne were in a year-long relationship and everyone knew they were going to get married until they had a messy breakup. Travis inhaled and exhaled, quickly, shaking his shoulders before standing up, everyone's eyes following as he walked towards Vivienne who stood with her friend.
"Do you think he's going to get slapped?" I asked Casper, my voice low.
"A hundred percent," he said looking at me before we chuckled and looked back at Travis. Travis came forward meeting Vivienne's gaze who looked confused and disgusted before he gripped her nape and kissed her passionately.
We all waited in anticipation waiting for Vivienne to reject him but instead, she kissed back, wrapping her arm around his neck. Casper and I made eye contact again, our expression shocked and disturbed before we looked away.
Travis pulled away, gave a wink and came back to the circle. "That is how you do it, bitches," he said.
"Who's next?" Bridget asked. Nathan reached forward and spun the bottle and it spun for a while before it landed on...
me.
what the fuck.
Everyone looked at me, smirks on the 4C's faces as Nathan started, "So... Amethyst, truth or dare?" he asked.
I need to play safe. "truth," I answered.
"Boring," Adeline remarked, her eyes looking somewhere else. I ignored her.
"I have two questions to ask," Nathan said. "You ready?" I nodded, shrugging.
"Are you a virgin?" He asked, smiling mischievously.
I choked on my spit, coughing. Okay, shouldn't have picked the truth. A few people chuckled before I controlled myself. "Nope," I shook my head.
"Okay, so what is the weirdest place you had sex at?" He asked. Everyone looking at me, intrigued.
I thought about it for a while, the only man I had ever slept with was Pierce and our relationship was very sexually active. As I thought of Pierce and me, I no longer felt that empty feeling like I always felt in my heart.
"Oh my god," I mumbled, hiding my face as embarrassment crept on me. "I can't say it," I shook my head.
"You have to!" Adeline, Travis, and Alainah exclaimed.
I sighed and blurted out, "It was in a hospital's bathroom after his relative died."
"Oh my god!" Almost everyone yelled as I hid my face and Casper threw a pillow at me.

I stepped out of the bathroom, wiping my wet hands on my now dry dress as I moved past the crowd, passing by a million teenagers making out, a few people passed out and an unknown guy sleeping on the kitchen counter.
My social battery was running out and I was still feeling lightheaded. I wanted to be somewhere quiet so I stepped out into the balcony and closed the door, the door separating me and the loud music, but not completely. I exhaled and turned towards the railing, gripping it and staring into the horizon.
"You smoke?" I jumped and looked to the side, seeing Caspian leaning against the wall smoking a joint. I shook my head and looked back at the view of the empty streets and the trees brushing through the wind.
He walked closer standing beside me and I could smell his exorbitant cologne mixed with the scent of cigarettes. We stood silently, in comfortable silence with only our soft breathing, the coos of an owl, and the faded music in the background.
"Stewart was your ex, right?" He asked, breaking the silence, his voice low and gravelly.
"Unfortunately," I said, my voice low as well, not wanting to ruin the silence.
He nodded, going silent again before asking, "Your parents... are they comfortable?"
"I work at an ice cream shop, what would you think?" I asked, looking at him. He looked at me before chuckling, roughly and bringing the stick to his lips. "I live with my mom. My dad ran away from me when I was a child, said a daughter was a lot for him and he wanted to make a music career."
Okay, I shouldn't have said that. I hope he doesn't pity me.
"Did he have one?" He asked. I was thankful he ignored the other parts.
"I don't know, never searched him up," I answered. We fell into a comfortable silence again before we heard the music change.
"Wanna dance?" He asked, looking down at me. I looked up at him, surprised before nodding.
Before joining the dance floor, I took a shot and let myself loose, getting rid of the nerves. We stepped on the dance floor, the lights dim with the neon lights lighting up the room. It started slow before we got comfortable and lost ourselves in the song, swaying before he twirled me, my back to his chest and we continued dancing, a bright smile on my face.
AUTHOR'S NOTE:
I don't know how to explain dance steps so I ended it there. If you can't imagine it in any way except a cringe one😭 then look up Ruby and James dance, something similar (not exactly like that) with a lot of body swaying and hand movements.
and yes ik that song didn't exist in 2018 but just pretend it did.
