The waves crashed against the bow of the ship.Hiccup jerked out of his sleep and bumped his head roughly on the eyelet to which his chains were attached. "Ah, Thor-damned chicken foot!" he cursed loudly. He rubbed the hot, throbbing spot and realized that it must already be dawn outside. In one of the cells opposite, a porthole had been set into the wooden wall, allowing a little light to shine in. To his chagrin, Hiccup couldn't tell anything else from it. Not even the position of the sun could be determined."You're so adorable when you're asleep, Hiccup," a muffled voice reached his ear. Hiccup froze in shock. "Who is it?" He asked into the void. He received no answer. He almost thought he had imagined the voice. No wonder, he was dehydrated, hypoglycemic and had just hit his head. He was surprised that the hallucinations hadn't started earlier. But, on closer inspection, was there a shadow just peeling out of the darker part of the back corner? Slowly, he recognized the outline of a muscular man. Hiccup backed away and swallowed. The figure was wrapped in a long cloak. The hood hung low over his face. Hiccup could barely make out the outline of the face. The figure drew his bloodied sword, which gleamed dully in the sparse light, and pointed it at Hiccup.
