Liam stood up after class and slowly walked up the aisle, looking at Astrid. She had on a green dress today, and was sitting at her desk, her hands folded in front of her. One of these days, I'm going to bend you over your desk.
Is that a promise?
"It is," he said softly as he stopped in front of her. "I think I fantasize about it during every class."
She laughed and shook her head. "Maybe on the last day so we both don't get kicked out if we're caught. What are you going to do while I'm in my meeting?"
He shrugged. "Finn is going to Emily's again."
"Have you seen Persephone at all?" She asked. He hadn't mentioned it so she didn't think so.
"Not since the day after Caroline gave me the beating of my life," Liam smiled.
"The day we met at the library?" Astrid asked, her eyes sparkling.
"Best day of my life," Liam said.
"Yes it was," she agreed. She stood, gathering her things, and putting them all in her bag. "Wanna meet me for a late lunch?"
"Yeah. Just link me when you're done." He hugged her and gave her a light kiss on the forehead before they both headed out of the building, each going their separate ways.
Liam headed back to his dorm. It was still awfully warm and humid out. He was happy to be back in the air conditioning when he stepped inside the building. He slipped on the elevator, and took it up to his floor, then got back off and walked down to his room. He stopped to unlock the door, and pushed it open, only to find himself pushed inside.
'Persephone,' Kai growled.
Liam turned to her and frowned. "What do you want, Persephone?"
"You know, it took a little detective work to figure out which dorm belonged to you and Finn. I don't know why you wouldn't tell me. I mean I am going to be your mate in just a few weeks, and yet the both of you just want to ignore me. I get Finn. I know he likes to play, but you Liam? You're not promiscuous like your brother. So what I didn't understand was why you wouldn't want to have me in your bed. The woman you're going to mate. Sex is inevitable, so why wait?"
Liam watched her approach him slowly, like she was stalking him. She stopped barely a foot in front of him and smiled.
"But then a little birdie told me that you found your fated mate, and you're refusing to mate me." She glared at him, and placed a hand on his chest. "But the thing is, Liam, you belong to me. You were promised to me twenty years ago, and now you think you can just back out?"
"Persephone..." He stopped when she placed a finger over his lips.
"Uh uh uh. Don't give me your excuses. You need to reject her. You're mine, Liam," she said. "I thought your father kicked you out of your pack. You're not a rogue."
"No I'm not. And I've already completed the mating bond with her as well," Liam pointed at his mark.
He watched her eyes glow and a growl erupted from her. "Who is she?"
"It's none of your business. Now get out of my dorm," Liam growled back at her.
"I think I'll wait for Finn to get back." She sat down on the couch.
"No, you won't. I have no idea where Finn is or when he'll be back. You already know he won't touch you until you're mated. Now leave," Liam shouted at her.
"I'm not going anywhere, Liam," she growled.
"Yes you are. You're not staying here by yourself and I'm leaving." Liam tossed his bookbag down and linked Caroline. Are you in your room?
