A flash of light. Sand started swirling around him and he looked out at the vast expanse of desert with confusion.
He wasn't sure what was going on, he didn't know where he was and everything felt fuzzy and disorienting. Like he was seeing the world around him through a lens.
The earth started to rumble and shift around him and strange creatures of rock erupted from the ground. Glowing blue eyes felt like they were stabbing into him as one monster after another emerged.
He tried to scream, he tried to escape but they all grabbed onto him and started to drag him down and just when he thought he was going to die, everything flipped.
Now he was standing up, back in the soft, non-moving, sand. The desert was quiet around him.
A soft glow walked up beside him, he turned to his side and a slight bit of surprise flashed over his face. Jay was standing next to him now, the crystal version, this part wasn't that unusual. He sees him pretty often, part of carrying the vision crystal with him. This version of him never reacts, like an observer. He would just stand quietly, as a presence.
There was a loud crack and a pulse of light that caught his eye, like that bright flashing thing from before. He turned and before him was some tall, strange, machine crackling and whirring with blue energy. In front of it was a silhouette, a Centka with a hood over his head working on the machine.
Slowly the shape turned and he saw the glare flash off the edges of the figure's goggles.
His breath caught in his throat and then the world warped and turned inside out.
He stumbled, he was now standing on top of- of- was this... Ninjago? How could he be-? He sent a glance at Jay who was still standing next to him, his cape fluttering and shifting like a wisp of a flame.
Another loud noise grabbed his attention and when he looked up he could see Borg Tower across from his spot on his building.
What scared him was what was above it There was a giant hole in the sky, a mix of blues and orange that spiralled violently with the speed of a whirlpool on steroids. There were loud cracks and with each one it got bigger, electricity arced into the portal helping it expand and a loud screaming ripped out from it.He started to take a step back when a flash of color caught his eye.
Nya?
"No!" She yelled and ran forward. Just as she reached the edge of the building, and Kai reached out for her, she turned into a puff of smoke vaporized by the light and swept away by the wind.
He just stared in horror for a moment and then the portal started to change again. It got bigger and bigger and louder until a bolt of power crashed out of it, slamming into the ground and the portal exploded in a massive pulse blinding him and erasing the city.
There was a strobing flash and for a second he thought he saw something like a swirling X before it was gone and lost in the white.
The world slowly faded back and he panted heavily. He looked around frantically, he wasn't in Ninjago anymore, he was back in the desert and Jay's form had disappeared from his side.
"Hello?" He called out, but no one responded. It was dark and the wind started to pick up angrily.
"Hello?" He called again "anybody out there?!"
The sky rumbled angrily and the wind pushed him forward forcing him to stumble in the sand. Something shifted underneath his foot and he scrambled back.
The purplish blue sand shifted and something started to rise out of it. The entire world stared to flicker and glitch like it was trying not to collapse.
