Y/n stared into the computer screen, paying attention not to the words he typed, but the next words in the sentence. A mix of scratch paper and homework assignments sat in a neat pile next to his laptop. He hummed along the music playing softly in his ears, occasionally pausing his typing to rephrase the sentence he just typed.
Suddenly, a finger tapped on his shoulder, breaking his concentration. Y/n pulled his earbuds out, turning around to meet Chaewon's curious eyes.
"You weren't responding to my knocks, so I let myself in," Chaewon said.
"Oh." Y/n scratched his head, chuckling, "I guess I was too focused. Are you feeling better?"
Chaewon pursed her lips. She fiddled with the hem of her borrowed shirt while she thought of how to pose her question. "Is—Is it okay if I stay here? Just a little bit longer..."
"You can stay as long as you need," Y/n smiled. "Though we'd probably need to get you clothes—or at least underwear."
"Oh! That... went smoother than I thought it would." Chaewon leaned over Y/n's shoulder, peeking at the tiny words on his screen. "What are you doing?"
"Writing a love story about two people who go to couple's counseling for their friends who are the actual people who need it. Through going, they grow closer and slowly fall in love," Y/n beamed. "I call it 'Idiots to Lovers."
"You probably need to work on that name," Chaewon hesitantly trailed.
Y/n scratched his head. "Yeah, probably. Aside from that, I have a fantasy story, and a few other romance stories."
"Do you spend all of your time writing?" Chaewon asked.
Y/n stretched, nodding. He let off a small yawn before slouching in his chair. "I'm not really interested in many other things. I've been thinking about reading or watching dramas, so I can get new ideas and write better, but I have trouble starting that kind of stuff."
"Dramas?" Chaewon's eyes lit up, "Which ones have you been eyeing?"
"You like dramas?" Y/n asked with a raised eyebrow.
"I love dramas!!" the radish beamed. "But you should find a hobby that involves you leaving the house."
She pointed toward the window, directing Y/n's attention to the setting sun, "You probably need some of that. Maybe working out would be a good idea."
"The problem with that is forming the habit of working out," Y/n droned. He stood on his feet before jumping onto his bed, "I'd much rather just stay home and do something I enjoy."
"Come on..." Chaewon tugged on Y/n's wrist, earning a groan, "We can go together. Maybe that'll help motivate you."
"Maybe," Y/n mumbled into his sheets.
Chaewon let off a soft sigh. She pulled at the sweater and sweatpants Y/n loaned her with a frown. "I was thinking about getting a job--and dropping out of school."
"That doesn't sound good for your future," Y/n replied dully.
"There's not much I can do. No one else will take me in--at least those with good intentions--and if I'm going to be staying here, I'd want to take some of the load off from you," Chaewon reasoned.
"Staying here?" Y/n sat up, "Who said you're staying here?"
Chaewon's eyes widened, causing Y/n to burst into a fit of laughter. He shook his head as he wiped the tears in his eyes, "I'm just kidding. You don't have to feel the need to do that. I'm doing this because I don't want you to suffer on the streets."
