Janus looked up as the interrogation room opened. He started crying.

"He's behind that door! Didn't those moron cops open it?" Janus asked.

"There was a lot of blood..." the officer put the file down. "Roman's blood. We believe he was there but when we looked inside nobody was there. Where is he?" Janus shook his head.

"N-No shadow had him! He was there!" Janus started crying. "Fuck.."

"We have multiple witness statements about your actions." She sighed. "So we looked into YOUR file and found you were actually diagnosed with DID years ago." She folded her arms across her chest. "Still doesn't explain why you let him do this to your partner." She leaned forward and flipped open the file. Janus stared at the photos of Remy. He covered his face.

"Oh god..."

"You didn't know?" She asked.

"Shadow...h-he wouldn't let me see." Janus pulled the file closer as he cried. "Oh my god Remy..."

"He refused to tell us about shadow." She replied. "Those kids also refused and now we see why." She pulled out a note. "Logan wrote this for you."

"It's sealed?" Janus took it curiously.

"We didn't read it." She replied. "Figured if the kid wanted us to we would have been given permission."

"I'm locked up." Janus put the note down. "Don't you like...have to read that stuff?"

"You really don't know how things work do you?"

"Well, I've never been locked up before..." Janus pushed the note to her. "Can you at least open it? I'm kind of chained here..."

"Well, I'll leave you to read it." She left one of his wrist cuffed to the table and opened the envelope. He watched her leave and he looked at the writing.

Janus,
I know you can fight shadow. I know you are stronger than you give yourself credit for. You fought so hard to keep us alive and we thought we'd fight to give you another chance. We know that you care for Remy, so use him as your strength. Use him as your anchor. Keep yourself fighting. Shadow can't win this. We believe in you.

~Logan

Janus wiped the tears from his eyes and placed the letter down. He felt sick. How was he ever going to explain this to the kid? God he could be the reason Roman's dead for crying out loud! He stalled too long! Janus looked at the blood on his shirt and sighed as he looked down at the note taking a breath. He needed his anchor. Now he had one.

                             ~🤎~

"Kid this is absolutely stupid of you." Remy put his coffee down.

"You needed caffeine."

"What I need is sleep." Remy chuckled.

"Yeah well you get to leave today so we aren't leaving your side." Remy looked at the door and smiled.

"You guys seriously think this is a good idea?" Remy drank the coffee looking over at Remus and Virgil.

"He's after us clearly." Virgil shrugged. "We split up and Roman was taken and hurt. If we do anymore splitting up then he'll definitely kill us." Remy turned on his phone and gasped.

"I don't think shadows going to be a problem." Remy looked up at the kids. What does that mean for Roman? "He was arrested."

"Roman...was Roman okay?" Remus asked. Remy read the report and bit his lip.

"He wasn't..." Remy looked over at Remus. "I'm so sorry they didn't find him."

"Oh god..." Remus started crying. "What do we do?"

"The only thing I can think of to do." Remy smirked. "It's illegal and we will definitely get into a lot of trouble if caught..."

"I'm down." Virgil shrugged.

"Virgil no." His father face palmed in the corner.

"Me too." Logan held his arms to his chest. "If it means we get Roman back."

"So protective of both the twins huh?" Patton chuckled. "I'm down. As long as nobody else gets hurt."

"Again, I as the adult, say no illegal shit."

"Dad, please just let us do this?" Virgil asked.

"No." He looked over at Remy. "Just go out to the car. All of you." The boys left. Remy raised an eyebrow looking at Virgil's dad.

"What the hell was that?" He asked.

"What's this plan?" He sat down.

"Thought you said no illegal shit." Remy mumbled.

"Yeah, my son's not getting a record. Me? I already have one. I don't care about my reputation at this point. So what's the plan?"

"They have Janus locked up at the police station. They said they searched his house and found a lot of blood but didn't find Roman anywhere which means he's in the secret room they never found." Remy wrote something down. "You need to break into the house."

"Easy." He shrugged. "I've broken into so many crime scenes."

"I-you know what I'm not even going to question that." He handed him the paper. "Be careful?"

"And about that Janus kid..." Remy looked over at the door. "I'll go check on him I promise." Remy thanked him as he left and curled up looking at the phone. If all goes well, maybe they'll find Roman alive.

                              ~❤️~

Roman stared at the wall. He held his side and whimpered in pain as he tried to stand.

"Fuck..." he started crying. "Hello?" He knew they were looking all over the house for him. So why didn't they find him after seeing all his blood? He heard noises and he stood up. "Hello?"

"Did you hear that?" He heard someone ask. Roman limped over to the wall.

"Please...." He leaned against the wall again. "Help..."

"Heard it that time yeah."

"Roman!?" He heard someone scrambling around and he laughed.

"Oh my god..." Virgil's dad, his dad sounded like they broke into the house. He heard someone else and he laughed. Oh my god.

"Help me." Remus started banging on walls. The door finally opened and Roman leaned against the wall looking over at the doorway that finally opened.

"Re..." he collapsed to his knees and Remus ran over.

"Roman!" He held him close. "Oh my god."

"How the hell is he alive!?" Virgil's dad ran over with some medical equipment. "Jesus Roman..."

"Give them room Remus." They stepped out and Roman watched as Virgil's dad tended to his wound.

"Okay...shit..." he shook his head. "Not as deep as I thought it was but fuck that was a lot of blood I thought he hit something important. No wonder why you are still alive. Just shocked you didn't bleed out." He finished working and looked Roman in the eyes. "You are one strong son of a bitch. Now let's get you to a hospital." His dad walked in and helped carry him to the couch.

"Is everything going to be okay?"

"Yeah, everything's going to be okay." He kissed Roman's head. Roman smiled. Everything was going to be okay.
