YEAH, REMEMBER WHEN I mentioned that business deals happen at parties? So, the five of us friends headed to the ground floor of the hotel. There, at the far end of the hotel premises, there's a separate club for partying, so we went there.

It's only been 15 minutes, and I'm starting to feel sleepy. I've decided to leave.

Someone grabs my wrist out of the blue. I feel a cold sensation on my wrist. You see, I hate cold hands and cold feet.

"Wait a minute, where are you going? The party hasn't ended yet. Our party is just getting started." Pratik says it excitingly.

I turn around to see Pratik and others. "Pratik, I need to leave. It's getting late, and I have a lot of work to do in the morning—" I put my hands on my hips, giving him a weary face.

When I say this, I am not lying; the issue is that I know what kind of party he's talking about, and I am not interested at all.

So what was I saying? Yes, I wake up at 5:00 p.m. And...
As I say this, I notice the looks on their faces; Sai's eyes widen, and she struggles to contain her laughter.

They're making this neck-slicing gesture.

When I look behind me, Pratik is making fun of my acting. I roll my eyes at Pratik's antics, feeling slightly annoyed.

"Pratik, you're done." I start chasing him, ready to give him a hard time.

"Sahej, stop! You look gorgeous, and the way you're running, your delicate dress might not survive this sprint." Pratik catches his breath desperately, trying to keep up with his laughter.

"Stop! Are! Are you two guys crazy?" Nil says in a high-pitched, annoyed voice.

"Stop it, Sej, and stay; it's going to be fun." Sai insists on calling me my "nickname."

"Alright, alright, I'll stay for a bit." So here is how my friends are. They all badger me until the kingdom comes ― the ones who throw a fit until they don't give a yes answer. Also, deep down, I know it's all in good fun. We have a bond that can withstand any teasing.

Our friendship's not normal; it's a bit toxic, but it's also incredibly strong and meaningful.

Our childhood memories and secrets are what hold us together.

"Perfect! Pratik, play the music, and turn it up. I don't want anyone here except us," Sai announces to the staff.

I protest, "Wait, what are you guys planning? If Dad finds out, he's going to scold me."
