Dani’s P.O.V
It’s been a couple of days since my chat with Leah. All of the girls that played at the world cup are now back for pre-season training. 
Me and Leah have spent a little bit of time together so it’s slow progress.
Leah is having a get together tonight to help the new players feel welcome into the team.
It was probably more of a party that I’m not really in the mood for but I feel like I have to go because of what it is for. I asked Leah if she wanted help setting up but she declined. I thought that we were getting closer again and that would have been a chance for us to spend a little bit of time with just us. Party starts at 7pm, usually I’m early to things but Leah made it clear she didn’t want my help so I’m going to get that after it starts.
I showered and got dressed, I put on my grey trousers and a long sleeve white top with my white air force and I put a grey bomber jacket on. By the time I was ready I still had around half an hour before I was leaving. I sat down on my bed and went through social media. I landed on Leah’s page as she had posted something today and just got lost in thought. Thinking if there was ever going to be a way back for me and her. Every time we seem to get closer again, she pushes me away. I don’t know what to do. 
I arrived at Leah’s at just after 7.30pm, I walked in without knocking. That was really weird, when I walked into the living room there was already quite a few players there. Kim, Jen, Steph, Wally, Lotte, Lessi, Beth and Viv. I know that Katie and Caitlin are on the way as well because Katie text me not long ago. I couldn’t see Leah so I made my way to the kitchen, I said hi to everyone that I walked past. I got into the kitchen; Leah was in there with Jordan. They are facing the other way so they didn’t see me. I said “hi guys”
They both turned around and said “hi” at the same time. Jordan smiled but Leah just continued with what she was doing. Jordan grabbed her drink and left the room.
I said “what’s up with you?”
Leah turned back to me and said “with me?”
“Well, there is no one else in the room is there” I said 
Leah replied “nothing. It’s just my exes keep on popping up without notice and”
I cut her off and said “I’ll just get myself a drink and be out of your hair then”
“I never meant it like that Dan” Leah said 
“It’s fine. We will talk later; you seem to be busy anyway” I said
I walked out into the living room and walked over to Beth and Viv, as soon as I got to them Beth walked away and out of the room. I said to Viv “wow, I didn’t even have to say anything and she is gone. What have I done?”
Viv said “as far as I know nothing. Did you not just go and talk to Leah?”
“Let’s just say I got somewhat of a frosty welcome from her” I said 
“Oh really” Viv said 
I said “yep. So not really having the best night and I’ve only just got here”
“I’m sure they will warm up to you” Viv said 
“We will see” I said   
Just then Katie and Caitlin walked through the living room door. Hand in hand, they had got together just after last season finished. I knew about it because me and Katie talk all the time but some people in the room didn’t. Everyone seemed to just turn and look at them, I looked around and even Beth and Leah were standing behind me and Viv watching. It was pretty awkward; I didn’t know how to change the atmosphere but someone needed to. Luckily for everyone in the room Beth went over to them and started chatting, which led the others to turn back to the conversations that they were having previously.
A couple of hours later, everyone was here now. Katie said “why don’t we all play never have I ever. Will help us get to know each other better”
Everyone pretty much agreed. I don’t think this is going to turn out well but we are going to play anyway. We all got into a group in the living room and Katie said “in case you don’t know the rules, someone is going to say a statement and if you have done it then you drink but we also may ask for an explanation just so it’s not boring”
Jen said “I think we all know how to play this game”
Everyone nodded along with Jen.
Katie said “ok, so I will start never have I ever had a threesome”
I thought to myself this isn’t going to go well. As I looked around only Leah, Jordan and myself drank.
Katie looked at me and I shook my head. She said “ok, Jen you go next”
Jen said “never have I ever had a partner outside of football”
Everyone except me and Lessi drank to that.
I could see that Wally was annoyed about something and she was up next. She said “never have I ever cheated on a partner”
I knew that this was going to end on coming up but I didn’t think that it would be this early in the game or that Wally would be asking the question.
I looked around and saw Leah, Beth, Lessi, Katie, Caitlin and Jordan drink. Then Wally said “explain. Who did you cheat on?”
Caitlin said “is this really fair?”
Wally said “you all wanted to play, didn’t you? No one forced you”
Katie said “people will get hurt though”
“You named the rules. Now you don’t want to play?” Wally said 
Katie said “fine. But your out of line. Mine is Ruesha”
Caitlin said “Lia”
Leah said “Dani and Jordan”
Beth said “Dani” I looked at her and she couldn’t even look at me.
Steph said “what about you Alessia? You drank didn’t you”
I looked at Alessia. She looked at me then looked away and said “Dani”
I could feel my eyes water. I got up grabbed my jacket and left the house. Just as I get outside, I hear Leah shout “Dani”
I turned around and waited for her to reach me. She said “please don’t go”
I said “to be honest Le, I’m not in the mood”
“It was a stupid game to play. Someone was always going to get hurt” Leah said
“I don’t think Wally thought that it would be me though. She just wanted Caitlin and Katie to come clean to everyone” I said 
Leah said “It’s not the point she was out of order. You didn’t know about Beth and Alessia cheating, did you?”
I said “No. I had no clue” I was hurt and Leah could see that. She pulled me into a hug and we just stood like that for a couple of minutes. Then I pulled away and said “I have to go”
Leah said “I’ll see you tomorrow”
I said “maybe. Bye Leah”
“Bye Dan” Leah said 
  
   

Note from author: Sorry I have been MIA for a bit. I injured my shoulder so has been hard doing any typing. I will try and update at least 1 or 2 chapters a week from now on.
