Your POV
Christmas.
Honestly, I hated Christmas. I could probably thank my family for that one. I just felt like the negatives outweighed the positives.
Like, have you seen LA traffic during the holidays?
However, here I was fluffing a Christmas tree that I had just put up in my apartment because Reneé said I needed to get one.
"Oh, that looks so much better," Reneé spoke as she came back into the living room. "Good job."
I rolled my eyes at her with a small laugh, smiling whenever she kissed me on the cheek. I took a step back as she plugged the tree in and it lit up.
She smiled and clapped before taking a step back herself to admire it.
"I think white and silver ornaments would look so pretty. Especially with a white tree skirt. It's going to be so cute."
I just let Reneé make all the decisions. Decorating wasn't my thing, anyways. Olivia had actually made most of the decisions when I was getting furniture for my apartment.
"So, what do you want for Christmas?" I asked her, making her roll her eyes at me.
"Nothing," she stuck her tongue out at me. "I told you not to get me anything."
"Are you getting me something?" I questioned, watching closely as she tried to hide a smile and turned away. "If you get me something then I'm getting you something."
I stood up and walked behind her, hugging her around her waist and smiling whenever she broke out in laughter.
"If you don't tell me I'll just ask Alexander," I threatened, but was confused when she turned around in my arms and had a bright smile on her face.
"What?" I asked, seemingly interrupting the thoughts in her head.
"Nothing..." She trailed off. "I'm just really happy you two get along. That's all."
I leaned in and kissed her lips gently. The fireworks were going off just like every other time we've kissed. Her hands trailed up my torso to cup my cheeks and mine fell to her waist, pulling her towards me gently.
We might've stayed like that for hours had my phone not started buzzing in my back pocket. I ignored it, hoping that she wouldn't notice.
"Are you gonna answer it?" She mumbled against my lips with a small giggle.
Well, I wasn't going to.
I pulled my phone out, regretting my decision to answer when I saw Olivia was FaceTiming me. I felt Reneé back up a little, but she didn't get far as I locked my arm around her waist.
She hid her smile as she allowed me to pull her closer and she rested her head on my chest.
"Oh, thank god," Olivia said whenever I finally answered the phone. "I need your help. Hey, Reneé."
"Hi," Reneé greeted as she put her hands in the front pocket of my hoodie.
"What do you need my help with?"
"This song," Olivia groaned, falling backwards onto a big bean bag chair. "Writers block so bad I want to die, Y/n."
I could tell she was in her home studio.
"Well, try not to do that," I laughed lightly. "Is it the one you sent me the other day?"
"Different one," she shook her head.
I looked down at Reneé, almost as if I was asking a question with my eyes. I wanted to go help my friend, but I didn't want to leave her.
"I can come help. Just give me a little while to clean up and stuff," I told her, watching as she sprung up from the beanbag in excitement.
"Okay! Take all the time you need," she told me. "I'll probably go grab a bit to eat anyways. Are you hungry? I can get you something, too."
"I'm okay. Thanks, though."
"I'll get you something," she waved me off. "You're not eating off my plate. Let me know when you're here and I'll open the gate."
We said our goodbyes and I hung up before sliding my phone back in my pocket and fully embracing the girl that was still resting on my chest.
"Do you want to come?" I asked, completely taking her by surprise.
"I don't think I'm invited," she laughed, leaning up and pecking my lips before she separated from me. "Have fun though. I hope you guys get it figured out."
I furrowed my eyebrows at her response as she began cleaning up around the living room. I began helping her, not knowing what to say next.
"Liv wouldn't mind if you tagged along," I spoke after a few minutes of silence.
Her nickname slipped from my lips, and I could tell Reneé took note of it, but she didn't let it show that it bothered her very much.
"It's okay, Y/n," she said with a short laugh, walking over to me. "I should get going anyways."
I didn't want to push it. She seemed to be coming around to Olivia more recently, but I wanted her to go at her own pace.
"See you tomorrow?" I asked her hopefully.
"If you want," she told me simply as she gathered her things.
There it was. I knew she was jealous.
"Of course I want to see you," I reassured her, stepping in front of her to make eye contact.
She smiled up at me, scanning my face before reaching up and tugging me down to kiss her lips. The kiss was much more passionate than the one we shared a minute ago. This one had a purpose behind it.
"I'll see you tomorrow," she told me whenever we separated.
All I could do was nod. She had quite literally taken my breath away. She laughed at the way I froze, leaning up and pecking my lips one more time before leaving my apartment.
