CHAPTER ELEVEN ; JEALOUSY IS AN UGLY COLOUR
season 2 episode 6
———

THE THREE HAD GONE TO THE ROADHOUSE since Sam had gotten a call about a potential case. On the journey over, Selene fell asleep—a usual thing for her and she was surprised to find that they already arrived at the Roadhouse and on top of that the Impala was empty.

Now, Selene was walking into the building, flattening out her hair as she spotted Sam and Dean talking to Jo. She had handed them something, most likely the case they were going to be given, Selene approached them with tired eyes.

"No one thought to wake me up?" Selene asked with a raspy voice, this caught the other three's attention. Making them all turn their heads to look at her as she stood next to Sam and Jo, Jo gave a friendly smile and tiny nudge which Selene returns.

"Not like I didn't try," Sam mumbled, Selene shook her head and didn't argue further. She knew she was hard to wake up when in a deep sleep, so she doesn't blame him.

Selene lifts her eyes up to look at Dean, who was already looking at her. They maintained eye contact, flashes of what they were doing just hours ago. Selene could practically remember the way his lips fit in with hers, his hands held her body and how he tasted like beer. In this second, they seemed to forget that they were surrounded by others, it was just them—until Jo interrupted.

"Three weeks ago, a young girl disappears from a Philadelphia apartment. This girl wasn't the first, over the past eighty years, six women have vanished. All from the same building, all blondes and only happens every decade or two, so cops never eyeball the pattern." Jo explained it all, and it was very well thought out and picked up on details the other three would've need to heavily research.

Dean takes a look at everything in the folder, going through all the information with an impressed look on his face as he asks, "Who put this together? Ash?"

Jo smirks proudly, "I did it myself."

Selene gave a proud nudge to Jo, "Good work, Jo." Selene was impressed with Jo, but she wasn't the only one. Dean gives her an impressed smirk while praising Jo for her good work, and while Selene was also proud of Jo for doing a good job. She felt an uneasy feeling settling in her stomach as she looks at the way Dean was looking at Jo.

Selene shook that feeling off and then looked at Sam as she said, "Come on, I've been bored out of my mind for weeks. Please."

Sam raised a brow as he said, "I gotta admit, we've hit the road for a lot less." Selene beamed at this, ready for a case—ready for anything really.

"Good, you like it so much you take it." Ellen came over suddenly, agreeing for them to take the case. The three didn't see anything wrong with it, but Jo tried fighting it. Clearly she wanted a chance to go on this hunt that she pulled together.

Dean and Sam agree to take it, giving Jo their deepest apologies as they left the area. Selene stayed for a moment with Ellen and Jo, Ellen gives the girl a welcoming pat on the shoulder as she says, "Be careful."

"Always am." Selene tells her before Ellen leaves, Selene turns to Jo and says, "I'm sorry, Jo. You did good work."

Jo gave a sad smile but tried to act as if it didn't bother her, then gives Selene a little pat on the shoulder as she says, "Call me when it's done, see ya, Selene."
