FLORENCE,
chapter thirteen.

____

THE MORE days that pasted the closer it got to Florence and Luca's wedding day and both parties were feeling anxious. Luca had never imagined that he would of ended up marring a Shelby, especially after delivering each Shelby family member a Black Hand. But, a truce had been agreed upon and once the two were married, the vendetta would be over.

Thomas and Luca had planned to meet together again with Arthur also attending, so the three sat in the private room of the Garrison, drinking their whiskey's together. Thomas begun the conversation, "You asked too meet with us, Mr. Changretta."

"You still don't call me Luca, Mr. Shelby." Luca commented dryly, taking another sip.

"That'll be the fuckin' day." Arthur grunted angrily. "You asked to meet, so get fucking talking."

Luca raised an eyebrow, though Florence had warned him that Arthur acted like that with everyone. "I want Florence to live with me. We are getting married after all so we should get used to living together."

"You live in London, Mr. Changretta." Thomas remarked, tipping his head to the side. "I suppose you'll be moving back to New York once all this business is done."

"I will, and Florence will be joining me." Luca informed them, watching as Arthur's grip on his glass got tighter. "It was a part of the agreement after all."

"No fuckin way is Florence moving to New York with 'im." Arthur argued, shaking his head firmly at the idea.

Thomas warned him as he glanced at his brother with a knowing look, "If Florence agrees to move in with you then it is fine with me. Your wedding is soon, Mr. Changretta, shouldn't you be planning it?"

"Oh, I have people doing that for me." Luca shrugged it off, waving his hand around in the air. "Anything else to discuss, gentlemen?"

Thomas shook his head as Arthur remained silent, refraining from attacking Luca who sat smugly. "Once the wedding is over, everything will be put behind us."

"Sì." Luca nodded, twirling the match stick in between his lips as he pointed at Arthur. "Don't forget you got off lucky, especially after killing my father."

Arthur glanced to his left, looking at Thomas who kept his expression cold like usual, ignoring the look Arthur was giving him. "This meeting is over."

Thomas knocked on the door to Florence's bedroom, opening it slowly as she allowed him to walk inside. Standing in the middle of the doorway he blurted out, "You'll be moving in with Luca, pack your things."

Florence stood up off her bed, walking over to Thomas. "Why? I thought that I would move in with him after the wedding? That's what was agreed up on!"

"Florence, fucking shut up." He warned her, "You're moving in with him because that's what people who are going to get married fucking do. So shut up, and pack your things."

Florence sighed, nodding her head as she sniffled, packing up whatever she could. A few hours later, she had packed up the majority of her belongings as she brought them downstairs, dropping them near the front door as it opened revealing Luca and Matteo.

"Grab the bags." Florence ordered them, stepping past them both as she got into the car without saying goodbye to anyone else, slamming the car door closed as she stared out of the window, her arms crossed over her chest.

Luca nudged Matteo, gesturing for him to grab her things as Luca stormed outside, getting into the car besides Florence as he said through gritted teeth, "Don't slam my fucking doors again."

"Or what?" Florence whispered, the exhaustion beginning to creep up on her as she rests her head on the window.

Luca rubbed a hand over his head. "I'm not going to argue with you, Florence."

"Then don't." She continued giving him simple answers.

Matteo quickly joined them in the car as Luca gestured for the driver to start off on the journey to London. Considering they were going to be in the car for a while, Florence made herself comfortable as she closed her eyes, allowing herself to try and fall asleep as she shivered slightly, wrapping her arms around herself as the goosebumps rose on her skin.

Luca glanced to his side, noticing the girl shivering as he removed his jacket, placing it over her body instantly making the shivering stop. When he spotted that Florence was about to argue, he gave her a warning look before saying, "Get some rest."
