The kiss with Leah had plagued Kiana's mind since it happened. Kiana fought with herself on whether she should tell Julien or not, but Kiana decided not to. What Julien didn't know couldn't hurt her.
That day Josette had invited Kiana out for lunch, which allowed Kiana to avoid Julien for a couple hours.
"You're quieter than usual, is something bothering you?"
Kiana desperately wanted to tell somebody about Leah and about the kiss, but she knew she couldn't do that without messing things up again. "Let's say, hypothetically of course, I did something really bad. Would Julien hypothetically hate me?"
"Depends" Jo answered, "What'd you hypothetically do?"
She stayed quiet for a moment, contemplating if Kiana should tell Jo about the kiss, but she decided to only partially tell them the truth. "I saw my dad in Nashville. He had a beautiful wife and two adorable twin boys"
"And you hate him for that?" Jo questioned, which Kiana nodded to. "I still don't understand what you did"
"Ever since then I've been going to a bar and having a few drinks. Julien's been on my ass about it so I haven't spoken to her in a while"
"Isn't she staying with you until August?!"
"Shut up, okay? Not all of us shine at holding down a stable relationship"
"Kelli and I communicate, which you and Julien don't seem to do" Josette stated.
Kiana thought about what her best friend had said, it never dawned on her that lack of communication is what broke her and Julien up in the first place. "So I should talk to her?"
"No shit"
Kiana nodded, although she knew that she wasn't going to talk to Julien about her kiss with Leah. Kiana kept the same mindset she had when she had first met Leah; what Julien doesn't know couldn't hurt her.
That evening when Kiana got back home after being out with Jo, she decided to tell Julien about her dad instead of Leah. Kiana set her keys down on the kitchen counter before calling out her girlfriends name, but there was no response. Kiana let out a soft chuckle and shook her head when she saw Julien fast asleep on the sofa with a book on her chest.
The brunette walked over to her girlfriend and gently took the book out of her hands, which awakened Julien.
"Oh, hey," Julien mumbled, "You're back"
"I am" Kiana took a seat beside Julien who began to sit up. "I'm sorry for ignoring you, I was just angry about my dad and I sort of pushed everyone away" That was a lie. She felt guilty about Leah but Kiana couldn't exactly tell Julien about her and the kiss.
