Elena, June 1st

Sometimes life moves too fast, to the point where it feels like you've ever left the past at all.

Elena feels like that. She can never leave the past behind. Or more like, she refuses to leave the past behind. She refuses to give her family that satisfaction.

"Come back to bed."

But it's strange. Living in the past. Because the present moves on, and before she knows it she is standing next to yet another hotel bed, her hair tousled up, body half naked and joints aching from yet another night of sleeping in a weird position. And there is some random girl there, probably another lesbian heiress that is madly in love with her, but can only date in secret, and Elena has to face the music yet again.

The bed never feels as good in the morning as it does in the evening. The alcohol has left her system, and her thoughts have become clear. A pile of work is probably already lying on her desk, and yet another day of fighting her way to the top is waiting for her.

That's what it's like to be a part of the Void family. It's shameless and free, at least on Elena's part, but you never do stop fighting.

She sits up on the bed and stretches her arms to the sides. The girl on her bed, now awake, admires the way her muscles stretch over her wide but lean back and shoulders. The way her black hair falls over and covers most of her back, a little messy but still effortlessly beautiful. Her eyes that were piercingly cold and terrifying the night before still send shivers down her spine.

Someone calls the tired heiress on the hotel nightstand.

Ignoring the girl behind her, Elena picks up her buzzing phone and puts it to her ear. She can barely see straight, dead tired and definitely not a morning person. Expecting the sultry and sweet voice of a certain somebody, she is instead met with the rough, monotonous and sadly work related voice of her father's secretary. Caregiver, at this point. Her father is far too old to be calling his secretary a secretary.

"Miss Elena?"

The voice coming from her phone is barely heard past the girl's shuffling on the bed. Elena reaches down to put on a white t-shirt, pulling it over her head. "What is it now?" Her voice is always so much deeper and rougher in the morning, and she comes off as scary and irritated. People at the company avoid her in the mornings because of it. Not that they don't try to avoid her during the day, too.

Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for her, she's the CEO.

"Mr Void has requested your presence in the family estate. He wishes to speak of your marriage."

Elena has almost thrown herself against the wall a million times this past year because of that damned sentence. But every time she stops herself, rolls her eyes knowing that her father's secretary can't see, and shows up anyway. "Alright." But she never misses the chance to be as blunt as possible before hanging up in his ear.

"Are you getting married?"

Elena feels the girl's arms slither around her, kissing her neck. It might not be the touch of a woman she loves, but it's still the touch of a woman, the voice of a woman, and the body of a woman. And that's enough to have her shoulders relax. Elena turns around to face the woman, a red haired slightly younger heiress.

Although she can't remember the events of the night before, she is pretty sure that this is Cecilia, heiress to some media company, a great asset to have. She is pretty, too. Not really her type, though. Not enough to have her heart skip a beat, but enough to be attractive.
