Ah Sonic 06 the most despised Sonic game out there (it's still leagues above the god awful Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric)
Here's my headcanon rewrite of the game
Sonic the Hedgehog: Flame of Solaris
In this rewrite Solaris and Iblis are a part of a prophecy. Said prophecy sates "if Iblis were to awaken then a group of warriors would one day put his reign to an end"
Instead of being gifted a blue chaos emerald by Silver Elise is instead gifted a lucky charm by her father before his demise
Sonic's story Some events play out the same except this time Elise isn't captured as much by Eggman (who wants to use Solaris's power to rule the world) Blaze also shows up to help Sonic on his adventure. Tails and Knuckles would also play a part in the story. Mephiles would also show up and try to get under Team Sonic's skin
Sonic and Elise would also grow a strong friendship with each other. Elise even telling Sonic that he was one of the only friends she ever had
Shadow's story It pretty much plays out the same as it did in the orignial game. Along the way Shadow, Rouge and Omega try to learn about Mephiles and his past. Shadow and Silver also try to go back to the past to prevent Solaris but would ultimately fail and would have to return to the past in order to prevent anymore paradoxes
Silver's story Since Silver's on his own in the future he is easily tricked by Mephiles due to his naive like nature. He befriends Amy who is looking for Team Sonic and Blaze and wanting to help them protect Elise and be with Sonic. When he and Sonic have their fight Amy tries talking to Silver and she would tell him that Sonic is a hero before running off. Later he'd go back to the past with Shadow (which would fail) and would then try to help Sonic and his friends
Final story Mephiles would kill Sonic causing Elise to stop holding her sadness back and release Iblis allowing Mephiles to fuse with it and become Solaris. Sonic's friends and even Eggman would then get all the chaos and sol emeralds and revive Sonic. Elise and Blaze would also revive Sonic (no. Neither would kiss him) and instead the emeralds would spin around Sonic, faster and faster until he comes back at Super Sonic
We then get a final fight with Solaris against Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Blaze, Shadow and Silver all in their super forms (burning form for Blaze)
Elise would then put out the flame of Solaris like in the orignial game and nobody remembers the events of the original timeline. Without Eggman attacking Sonic would still visit Soleana and become friends with Elise
On ocassion Sonic would visit Elise and make sure she's ok keeping that friendship alive
