I was casually walking home from school with a couple of my buds when we crossed the road and I heard a car close. I pulled my friends back as they sped up, I was trying to not get hit by a car. I am not going to be a witness to my friends' deaths.

"Hey, you alright Maxx?" He asked.

"Oh, yeah. but that guy was a real fucking dick." I say lighting a cigarette and tossing one over to Zach and Ryker

"Yeah, he was. I fucking hope he gets into a car accident." He replied lighting it.

"Yea. Me too." I smiled.

We were around one block away from my house before I got kicked into the road by my friends as a joke. I fell forward onto my hands before attempting to get up. I heard something beside me as I got onto one knee.

"Maxx!" Zach called out with pure fake terror.

I looked over as a car sped up towards me, all of a sudden the world went black.

"Get him into room 102." I heard someone say, as I gained consciousness.

I looked around me for a moment before realizing I was in a hospital.

"What the fuck?" I asked trying to sit up.

"No, please stay down." a doctor asked.

My one eye was covered in bandage and my right arm and leg were in casts.

"Why am I here?" I asked confused as they turned left down a long narrow hallway.

"You were hit by a car. Someone found you on the road with no one around, so they called." He replied.

"My friends ditched me." I sighed laying back down.

Some friends they fucking were. Once I get out of here, I will beat their ass's like a straight man. Like me.

I smiled at the "Straight man, like me." joke I just made.

"So, you will be put in here with Damien. Is that okay?"  He muttered, trying to speak it well in English.

"It's fine as long as he isn't old." I teased.

"Nah, joking. Bring him in." I smiled waving.

"Okay." The doctor replied awkwardly, faking a laugh.

I just rolled my eyes and let the guy roll in.

"Here he is." They smiled wheeling a boy teen in who looked roughly my age.

"Hey." He smiled.

Oh. My. Fucking. God. His voice. It's so fucking deep. Am I simply right now? Oh, there's a bench, I wanna pin him to it and fu-

"You alright?" He interrupted me.

"Oh, Yea. I am fine, thanks. Sorry. Hey." I smiled awkwardly.

"What happened to you?" He asked confusingly.

"Friends thought it would be cool to push me in front of a car, get me hit, then run off," I said reaching into my pocket to grab my wallet, which wasn't there.

"And steal my wallet with $6,056.." I continued, falling back and just giving up.

"It'll be alright, here's $3,000." He offered.

"My family is pretty rich so I am sure they don't care. I will give you another $3,000 soon." He continued.

"It's fine. Keep your money." I replied.

"No. Take it." He protested

"Fine," I said defeated, reaching my hand out miserably.

"You okay?" He asked.

"No. I am in pain." I replied, rolling my eyes.

"Damn. Someones moody. You'll be fine. Don't worry." He tried reassuring me.

"I hope so. God, I hate this." I replied.

"You know the band Gorillaz?" He asked, putting some weird ass band on that I have never heard before.

"No?" I reply.

"I have been listening to them for years," Damien said.

Surprised I sat up, well tried too.

"They are that good?" I ask as a good song came on.

"Yeah, this is Clint Eastwood, by the Gorillaz." He smiled

"Is all their music good?" I asked.

"Eh. Not really. They have two good songs." He smiled, changing the song.

"No, hey. That was good." I pull outward with my broken arm.

"FUCK!" I scream, the bone digging into my arm.

Nurses and doctors immediately rush in.

"Get his arm." They yelled over my screams.

"Shit. This is my fault." Damien sat there, staring in horror.

"No, it isn't unless you touched him." They said, pulling my arm to fix the rupture.

"Oh? I never touched him." He said relieved but worried for me.

He came and sat beside me, and kissed my head.

"It'll be okay." He said pulling me close.

"Ah, sorry if you don't like this. I am just trying to help." He smiled as I sort of pulled away.

"No, it's fine," I replied looking down.

"Are you sure?" He asked.

I moved closer.

"Yea. I am sure." I replied, resting my head on his shoulder.

"Alright, then." He put his arm around me.

"Wanna maybe be friends?" I hesitated to ask.

"Yeah, that'll be cool." He smiled hugging me tighter.

Butterflies filled me. I hope he didn't mind my hair in his face.

"You okay?" He asked moving my hair.

"Yeah, I am okay. Just tired." I smiled, and looked down, shyly.

"Don't be shy around me. You are okay." Damien calmed me.

"Alright, I won't." I smiled, dozing off.
