The first to wake up the next morning were me and Roland. As Roland was busy searching Jamie's kitchen for ingredients to prepare breakfast, I took the initiative to make some delicious coffee for both of us.

"Well, there's nothing here. I guess we'll need to either go to the shop or we'll stay hungry." Roland said as he closed the fridge in disappointment before walking over to me and taking his coffee.

"I can go. I know what Jamie buys and I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I shopped for him." I said, not realizing how suspicious it sounded.

"Of course you do. Sorry, I got a little confused about how you know his usual shopping list at first. I thought there was something shady going on between you two but then I realized you used to live here for a while." Roland said with an awkward smile, making me finally realize what exactly I said.

"Oh, yeah. Sorry if it sounded weird. There's nothing shady going on between us, don't worry. However, I did notice that you and Lily have been spending quite some time together lately. What's going on there?" I asked, questioning Roland just as he had been questioning me. Roland stared at me with wide eyes for a while, trying to look like he had no idea what I was talking about.

"What? What are you insinuating Calla?" Roland asked, shocked by what I might've been suggesting. I just shook my head with a smile, not believing the innocent face Roland was putting on.

"You know what? Never mind. I'm going to the shop." I said as I stood up from the kitchen table and walked away, taking my coat and leaving the house. Only a few minutes after I had left, Lily, Cora, Iris and Tristan woke up. Only Jimmy, Sam and Jamie continued sleeping. They looked around the house, thinking that I would already be awake before turning to Roland.

"Where's Calla?" Tristan asked as they all poured themselves some coffee, looking around the empty kitchen.

"She went to the shop. She said she'd be right back." Roland responded with an empty and emotionless tone.

"Oh, Jamie is not going to be happy about that. He doesn't like when other people do his shopping. He doesn't even let me do the shopping when I'm here." Lily said, grimacing a little as she imagined Jamie's angry face.

"She said it would be fine. That he wouldn't mind because she knows what he usually buys. Apparently, she used to go shopping with him." Roland said with a shrug as he took a sip of his coffee.

"Yeah, she told me about that. Apparently, they used to shop a lot in some small shop nearby when she was hiding here. She said it was the only safe public space she could go to that no one would find or rat her out." Cora said as she slowly drank her coffee, leaning against the kitchen counter.

"Interesting. Sam said Jamie didn't like shopping with him either. He said he preferred shopping alone. I guess that's not the case anymore." Iris said with a shrug as well, sitting down at the kitchen table with her coffee.

"Seems like Jamie's changing a lot over the last few weeks of spending time with Callista." Tristan stated, but only a part of his statement was true.

"Or he's just making exceptions." Roland said, his statement a lot more accurate than Tristan's. Jamie was indeed making exceptions. Exceptions for me because our relationship has gone through a lot of changes over the weeks prior to that day. The most important change was something the others weren't supposed to know at the time.

"That sounds about right." Iris said, agreeing with Roland what was probably the smartest move to do in that moment. It seemed like Roland knew a bit more than he let on, just the same way as he had a lot more secrets than he let out. The look that Lily had been giving him confirmed my theory many times. At that rate, the two cheaters would find each other out rather quickly. After a few more minutes of chatting, Sam, Jamie and Jimmy finally woke up as well, just in time for my arrival from the shop.
