ISABELLA
"Miss, I think we're lost—"
"Do you really think I'll get us lost?"
He huffed and continued to follow me. The cricketing of insects and crunching of leaves beneath our feet were the evident sounds and he looked pretty exhausted. I snickered when he slapped himself because of a mosquito.
"Okay grumpy pants, we're here" I announced.
He looked around and I see him adjust his new glasses as he looked around the place. It's been a couple of days since our mini shopping at the mall and we were back to the way we were before, except for the fact that I actually like him. I asked Simon to prepare a small picnic at the cliff near the warehouse that I brought my guests.
"Woah, when did you prepare this Bella?" he said in awestruck.
I smirked and placed my hands on my hips. "Oh, this? Actually I—"
"It looks uh,...r-romantic?"
I widened my eyes and looked at the picnic that I asked Simon to prepare and as always, he never fails to embarrass me. There was a red and white picnic blanket with pasta and chicken in the middle. There was also a radio playing a slow song and there we're a couple of candles and rose petals scattered.
"Just one sec" I grabbed my phone and dialled Simon's number.
"Good evening Miss, how can I—"
"The only good about this evening is when I can wring your neck" I seethed through the phone. "What the fuck is with this set up?"
"I just followed your orders miss" he answered abrasively.
"I remember telling you to prepare the place for dinner"
"Yes, and that's what I did—"
"Not a damn dinner date"
His voice remained apathetic throughout the conversation and I could feel myself getting a couple of years off on my lifespan as our conversation continued.
"Well you told me that you'll be with Mr. Shawn and knowing you, you won't have any ideas on how to make it a bit personal—"
"excuse me?" I said, sounding offended.
"—so I asked for your permission on tweaking the plan a bit—"
"This is a bit?!"
"—and you agreed, hence the outcome"
I sighed and tapped my foot on the grass, trying to control my anger. "You—"
"B-Bella? Sorry to interrupt but—" his stomach grumbled and he looked at me sheepishly. "..I'm quite hungry"
I hear Simon stifle a laugh from the other end of the line. "I'll call you back"
"Enjoy the evening Miss"
I pushed my phone back to my pocket and walked back to the dinner place. It wasn't really that bad, I just feel that Shawn would notice that I actually like him and that I asked Simon to set this up. I don't want to tell him what I feel this way, it's less cool and he might think that I'm too easy which I'm not and—
"B-Bella?" Shawn called out. "Why aren't you e-eating?"
"Huh? Oh yeah" I smiled. "Sorry about this, Simon got the wrong idea and don't worry, I'll tell him off and besides, it would be bad for your girlfriend to know. Oh shit, is she okay with this? I mean—"
"Woah, girlfriend?" he said sounding confused. "I don't—when did I? I mean, what?"
I blinked at him. "Last time, you were talking to someone on the phone and—"
