After her great escape, Sapphire had no idea where to go, or what was next. She had been in the asylum for so long she barely had any memories of her past life, only the one's she could remember from her nightmares. She didn't even want to go home, but she also didn't have anywhere else to go. So she simply remained in the asylum. Mostly everyone was dead, and the ones she had left alive she eventually hunted down. She eventually was left alone, with the doors sealed. She knew it wouldn't take long for word to spread about the horrific slaughter in the asylum. After all, one managed to escape. Though even with the occasional threat with law enforcement, time seemed to pass by slowly.

Days turned into weeks, and weeks melted into months. Bodies decayed and the stench that radiated from the asylum was horrid. Even for Sapphire. Soon enough she was bored all over again and she had a feeling it was time to leave. It had been quiet, not even police showed up anymore. So she left. She had been debating on whether she should go after the doctor or see her family again. A part of her missed them, but she also remembered they were the ones to lock her away. She was burdened with that very decision for months, and then she finally decided the first stop was to go home. She needed to see the faces of the ones who she despised even more than the doctor. She needed to hear their screams as she agonizingly murdered each and every one of them.

Weeks later Sapphire was still on the hunt. She had very little memories to go off of and wasn't sure where to start. Though she did have an idea to ask the locals in the town below. Unfortunately that was an immediate dead end. None of the locals knew who she was talking about. So by the time the sun began to rise she was in some stable, hiding away from people and taking a much needed rest. In that moment she could truly sleep, and there were no nightmares to keep her tossing and turning. Sleeping through till night fell, Sapphire left the stable, and decided that this town was a dud. She needed to go further and start exploring to see where she could find her lost family.

It would be months before she got any leads on to where her family would be residing. She wound up, finding them accidentally. She had been in the market, simply talking to the locals. This market seemed to be stuck n the past, but seemed really friendly. It was a nice change, to see such a sight. Sapphire was currently stopped at a fresh produce stand, when she noticed a rather familiar sight. It was the necklace her mother used to wear. A simple strand of pearls. Mostly out of curiosity, she asked the shopkeep about it, and well he recalled a particular family on the road. They had a flat tire and needed money to get it repaired before heading back home. It was then that he struck a deal and took the necklace as a trade. Hiding the fact she was a "relative" she asked which direction the family went. When she received her answer, she thanked the kind man and went on her way. He had told her that there was a village only a few hours away and that it was probably where they were heading.

So naturally, Sapphire followed the long road ahead. She was determined to once again find her family. Not to love, but to slaughter and punish for sending her away. You'd think, the closer she got the easier it would be to find them. That wasn't the case. She had found the town the shopkeep had talked about, but she had felt hopeless. So many people.. So many houses! By the time she realized she would never be able to find them, even if they were in the town, she hadn't been keeping up with herself. She needed sustenance. She needed blood.. So casually pausing her search she entered the forest on the outskirts of town. She planned on simply feeding off an animal she hunted down, but out of nowhere she heard the scream of a child and the sweet blissful scent of human blood.

It was enough to drive her mad. She was already starving.. but now her vampiric instincts told her to hunt the wounded child. Hunting down the thing like it was an animal, she eventually found it. It was nothing more than a helpless 9 year old boy, lost in the woods. At first she wanted to act like its savior but she couldn't. She was too hungry. crouching down, she lunged forward, only to be met with a stray arrow. In her frenzied state, she hadn't realized a hunter had been nearby. Playing it off like she had been protecting the child, the owner of the arrow came out of the bushes in a hurry. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry. I thought that child was a baby deer." "Yeah well you almost killed the poor thing! Lucky for you that I was there to stop the arrow."
