The sound of a door slamming shut woke you quickly, the chair rattling you as you jolt forward to sit up straight. Your eyes are blurry, adjusting to the light that has now illuminated the room. "Ugh", you groan.

"Sorry, I wouldn't want to disturb your sleep. Even though you have a bed and no one ALLOWED you to sleep in my bar.", Levi's spoke sarcastically through his teeth.

As your eyes adjusted you see Levi standing in front of you, a scowl permanently marked on his face. You roll your eyes without even thinking as you get up from his chair and straighten your outfit. "Sorry, Sir. It was better than drinking and driving." You muttered at the end, making your way around the other side of the desk that Levi wasn't around.

"You got drunk last night?" Levi asked quizzically.

The palm of your hand rubbed your temple, attempting to rub the hangover away. "Yes. So if I may, I'm going to clean up in the bathroom and get to work." You deadpanned as you waited for Levi to get out of the doorway which he was now blocking.

"We need to talk about last night." Levi frowned.

Flashes of the night before you drank came into your mind. "Ah. See, no. I told you exactly what has been on my mind. We are keeping this shit separate because I am so tired of getting whiplash by you and your emotional and physical mood swings. The sex is great, but I told you I wanted more and that wasn't good enough. I deserve more." You seethed your last sentence. "Now, like I said, Sir. I need to get to work."

Levi scowled, as his fist balled but he stepped aside to let you pass. You shake your head as you pass him through the doorframe, 'of course, it was his idea to talk and he still doesn't say anything' you thought to yourself.

Bumping face first directly into Eren's shoulders, your face reddens. "Oh, hey Eren. You're here early?" You stammer.

Eren cleared his throat. "Yeah, I had texted you late after we left and never heard anything so I got kinda worried...and wanted to check on you. You good?"

A soft smile dusted your face. "Yeah, all good. Sorry about that, I had left it on do not disturb." You pulled out your phone to see several missed texts from Eren, and another several missed calls and texts from Levi. Did you make it back? Call me. Where are you? Caught your eye as you scrolled, then placing your phone back in your pocket.

"Sorry I didn't see it until now! Thanks for checking in, but yeah I'm good! I got everything done I needed to last night." You nodded.

"Okay if you're sure—" Eren started before Levi opened the office door behind you, just staring at Eren.

"Yeager, you're here early. You're not needed for another few hours so whatever you're doing here, you're not getting paid for it." Levi added bluntly.

"Well aware. Just checking in on Y/N." Eren spoke to Levi, but his eyes remained on you. You responded with a soft smile. "Yep. Like I said, I'm good. I have to get to work." You began to walk away, paying attention to Levi continuing to stand there from your peripheral vision. You watched as Eren stepped around Levi to head to the employee lounge, texting quickly on his phone.

You turn quickly, attempting to hurry and find yourself a spot to work and be alone. As you enter the main bar area, you see several dishes piled in the corner booth. "Tsk. I thought Connie would have at least cleaned up some of these before leaving. No wonder Levi was in a mood." You rambled out loud.

As you start to stack the dishes on top of one another, the clinking of the glass echoed. Before you realize it, two plates start to topple over, sliding down each other and directly onto the floor. A loud crash reverberated off the walls, tiny pieces of glass plate scattered across the floor. The biggest chunks laid by your foot, while tiny pieces were strewed across the floor in multiple directions.

"Great." you muttered to yourself. You bend down to begin picking up the bigger pieces of plate, accidentally slicing the tip of your thumb in the process.

"Oh for fucks sake..." you snap your finger back quickly, your eyes now catching the movement from beside you. You jump back, startled to see Levi kneeling beside you.

"Jumpy much?" Levi unintentionally teased.

"Just another day, I suppose." You retorted, holding your thumb with the sleeve of your cardigan.

"Are you hurt?" He asked, an unfamiliar look spread across his face. Is that concern? You thought to yourself, before telling yourself you were crazy.

"Let me see." Levi commanded, holding his hand out to you.

You hesitate, but ultimately gave in. Levi's eyes remain on your thumb, turning it from the left to the right to assess how long and deep of a cut it was.

"I don't think you'll need stitches, but we will need to cover this up. You're getting blood everywhere." Levi spoke away from you, turning his back quickly to pull a first aid kit from behind his back where he was kneeling beside you.

"When did you get that?" You asked, confused.

"What? You didn't think anyone else heard the glass shattering everywhere? I brought it in case." He added.

"Ah. Got it." You quietly nod, watching Levi as he cleans your wound.

"There," he says as he wraps the final bandaid over the gauze, "that should keep it sanitary and contained."

You stare at him, your gut twisting with nerves. So many different feelings boiling under your skin.

"Why did you even come out here to help me? My shirt would have been fine to stop the bleeding." You snapped at him.

What you expected to get from Levi was anger, but instead you're met with softness. Disappointed is written over his face.

"Leave and come back later for another shift tonight." Levi demanded cooly.

"What? No! I'm already here. That's pointless." You bit back.

He now looked more harsh. "It's an order. Go home and cool off and get some ACTUAL rest in your bed. Come back to help with busy hours tonight. Now leave." He dismissed you, quickly standing and turning on his heels as he goes to grab a broom from behind the bar.

"Fine." You gritted through your teeth, stepping around the glass that littered the floor and pushing through the door to the outdoors.

The thought of the bed without Levi being home did sound more appealing, you thought to yourself the closer you got to your car. Avoiding him is going to be harder than I thought, you mumbled under your breath as you start your car to head home.
