Familiar Faces

                                    

                                          
Kaoru woke up in the best mood she'd ever had. It was the first day of the next chapter of her life. She was going to live out her wildest dreams. 
She put on her uniform and grabbed her bag and her guitar case. Rimi walked to class with Kaoru, and she got super flustered when Kaoru held onto her hand in an effort to not get lost in the huge school. 
Arriving at the classroom door, Kaoru stopped to let Rimi enter first. 
She needed a moment to compose herself. Unfortunately, she didn't get that moment because a blue haired girl named Hina Hikawa appeared behind her and practically shoved her through the door. 
"Uwahh!" Kaoru tumbled into the classroom, grabbing onto the teacher's desk to steady herself. She looked up and saw that the entire class had gone silent, staring directly at her.
Rimi ran over to Kaoru and helped her up, then she turned to Hina, who was standing behind Kaoru, averting her eyes. 
"Why would you push Seta-san like that?! You could've hurt her! It's her first day here and that's how you choose to greet her?!" Rimi was heated, she didn't usually get this upset about things, and she definitely didn't usually confront people like this. 
"Sorry~" Hina almost giggled. "I didn't mean to shove her like that, I was rushing to class so that I wouldn't be late, I didn't expect for the girl to be standing in the doorway. Aaaanyway," Hina drew out the "a" for a long time. "My name is Hikawa Hina. You're the new student, right?" She pointed at Kaoru. 
"Yes, I am. Seta Kaoru is my name. It's a pleasure to meet you." Kaoru made an effort to sound cool and mature, although she was still pretty shaken up. 
Just then, the teacher walked through the door. 
"Okay class, please take your seats." Said the teacher as she settled in behind her desk. Rimi and Hina scrambled to their desks. Kaoru stood awkwardly at the front of the room. 
"Now, Seta-san, why don't you introduce yourself?" The teacher handed Kaoru a piece of chalk so she could write her name on the chalkboard. 
Kaoru took the chalk and wrote down her name, then she turned towards the students and prepared to introduce herself. Upon scanning the room, however, her mind went haywire. She saw a familiar face in the crowd. 
A beautiful, almost angelic face. Skin that practically glowed and shiny purple eyes with long lashes. All framed by the most gorgeous head of blonde hair that Kaoru had ever seen. 
It was Chii-chan. 
Shirasagi Chisato. 
"Seta-san? Seta-san? Are you going to introduce yourself?"
Kaoru was broken from her trance. 
"O-oh, yes. I'm Seta Kaoru. I play the guitar and I enjoy acting. I look forward to getting to know all of you." Kaoru rushed her introduction and bowed quickly before immediately sprinting to an empty seat. 
It just so happened that the only empty seat was in between Chisato and Hina. 
Hina immediately leaned toward Kaoru and started talking to her. 
"Fancy seeing you again~" Hina said with a smirk. 
"Hello Hikawa-san..." Kaoru replied. Her eyes kept slipping over to Chisato, who was sitting in the desk to her right, not paying her any attention. "Is she ignoring me on purpose?" Kaoru thought, "Or does she actually not remember me?" 
Kaoru reassured herself, there was no way Chisato could have forgotten her, they'd been friends for such a long time. Although, that didn't exactly make her feel better, since that meant that Chisato was purposely acting like she didn't know her.
