Yoongi huffed behind him, letting him go. "Hurry, it's cold" he heard as he scampered off to the bathroom, making sure to take soft steps to not wake up Namjoon who was snoring away on the couch next to them.
He flinched when he saw his red eyes and the dark circles that sat underneath them in the mirror. "Great" he mumbled. He leaned down, washing away the dried tears that sat on his cheeks. Remembering last night he felt a cold chill run through him, the way Teahyung hugged him..No, don't think about it. He was just amazed that Taehyung knew how to touch someone and not inflict pain. Yep that was it. All it was. He didn't care that Taehyung felt warm, definitely not.
When he turned up at Namjoons place last night, thankfully he nor Yoongi questioned him or his appearance. He felt worn out, living with the person who had hurt him mentally and physically and pretending that everything was ok had finally broke him. His mental state snapped and this was the result, crying endlessly all night. He wasn't sure what time he had finally settled, but it had to have been in the earlier hours of the morning.
He knew that if Taehyung didn't have questions before he would now. He dreaded having to return back to his dorm, knowing it was inevitable he decided to straighten his back and face his old bully head on. Like he had told his hyungs previously, Taehyung seemed different, at first he thought maybe it was a ploy, that the other was just pretending maybe so he would let his guard down. He threw that thought out when it had been 2 months of this, Taehyung genuinely seemed to be a different person and to not know who Jungkook was. So, a part of him almost felt a little bad for how he was treating him, only a little part though.
"So you think he's really changed?" Yoongi asked before taking a sip of his coffee. The three were sitting in a small cafe off campus enjoying their mid afternoon breakfast.
"Yes. I think so. He seemed worried almost." He pulled at his sleeves remembering Taehyungs face from the previous night. "He even tried comforting me"
"Hmm. I still don't like him."
Namjoon snorted at that. "Nobody said you had to Yoongs. But we should respect Kooks wishes and not interfere."
"Whatever" Yoongi knew Namjoon was right. When wasn't he?
"How's work going hyung?" Jungkook decided to change the subject, he didn't want to upset Yoongi anymore.
"It's fine. Working on some new things, I'll let you have a listen soon, they're almost finished"
"Ooh Yay! I love your songs so I'm excited." The youngest squealed excitedly, he truly did love anything Yoongi created.
"What about you Joon? How's things going with that girl, Maya?" Yoongi had been dying to ask this since arriving yesterday, but he was sidetracked with the Taehyung situation.
"Oh, umm..not good."
"Why?" Jungkook asked. "You like her, right? So what's the problem?"
Namjoon sighed heavily, it was true he liked Maya. Had liked her for a couple years now but the other had been in a relationship for the majority of it and just recently she had broke things off with her boyfriend. He didn't think it was appropriate to try and make a move so quickly. She needed time and he would respect and give her that.
He had always been a close friend of hers and hid away his feelings for their entire friendship knowing she was with someone else, it hurt but he couldn't be selfish. He and Maya got along great and he didn't want to mess up their friendship for a simple crush. Only it wasn't so simple, he was falling in love and he couldn't stop it. So when she announced her break up a couple of months ago he was elated though he couldn't show it. He thought this was his chance to finally put himself out there and ask her out, only he wasn't sure how she felt towards him. Sure, there had always been some playful flirting, nothing more than that though.
"I'm giving her space, she just got out of a relationship, she needs time to figure herself out, she shouldn't just jump right into another. I don't want to be just a rebound."
"Joonie hyung you are, without a doubt, the most selfless man I know"
Yoongi rolled his eyes at his cousins comment, though he was right, he wouldn't outwardly agree.

Jungkook shifted from one foot to the other as he stood outside his dorm. He knew the other was inside, he could hear the gentle jazz music Taehyung seemed to enjoy through the door. He also heard a giggle that definitely did not belong to Taehyung. Did he have company?
He opened the door finding his roommate and another male inside. Taehyung was sitting at his desk while the other was sprawled out on his bed. The two looked his way and both stood as he entered.
Jungkook felt out of place and a little awkward, he never was good with new people, especially ones that were super pretty and made him feel inferior.
"Hi. You must be Jungkook, right?" The pretty male approached him with a welcoming smile.
"..yeah" he scratched at his cheek looking down not knowing where else to look.
"I'm Jimin, Teahyungs friend. Well best friend." His voice was sweet and gentle, not the kind of person he expected Taehyung to associate himself with. The exact opposite actually.
Not wanting to be rude he bowed his head politely. "It's nice to meet you"
"Awe. You're adorable." Jimin reached out and ruffled his hair causing him to jump back at the touch. He wasn't used to strangers touching him so openly and giving his history with Taehyung, he wasn't expecting a friend of the others to be so warm.
"Sorry, I'm an openly affectionate guy. You'll get used to it"
He nodded along finally looking to his roommate who was staring back at him with an unreadable expression. He wonders if he had figured out who he was. Unless Jungkook had been so insignificant to him then he would never figure it out.
"Taehyung talks about you a lot. And I have to say that I agree, you are very cute."
What. The. Hell. Park Jimin is a traitor. Taehyung had never felt so targeted by his supposed best friend, outing him like this. It was true, he did think Jungkook was cute, pretty even. He had told Jimin that in complete secrecy, well not secrecy but he never knew that his friend would just throw that out there, and to his crush no less. His crush? No way. No crush. How can he crush on someone who dislikes his entire existence? They haven't had a proper conversation yet, so this he was feeling was just attraction. It was no secret that Jungkook was good looking, he had a slim figure and a delicate face, not to mention his silky voice that Taehyung was sure was a melody in its own.
"Oh. Umm thanks I guess" Taehyung looked to him now after the deathly glare he shot at Jimin who just smiled so innocently back. "You're very pretty" Jungkook spoke quietly towards Jimin, his cheeks started to color a beautiful shade of pink as he spoke. Taehyungs moment of anger towards his best friend only deepened at Jungkooks compliment.
"Thanks." Jimin smiled affectionately towards him. "We are gonna watch a movie on my laptop. Do you want to join?"
Jungkook quickly glanced at Taehyung, who could see a slight sense of panic flash in Jungkook's eyes. "Oh, I umm.."
"Please please please" Jimin grasped Jungkooks hand and threw him his best puppy eyes he could muster as he begged him.
"I guess that's fine"
Jimin squealed pulling Jungkook with him onto Taehyungs bed, just now did Jungkook notice the array of snacks and drinks that were spread out around him.
"Get the lights Tae" Jimin ordered as he set the laptop up on his legs as he decided to sit between the two feuding roommates. "I hope you like scary movies"
"They're fine" he chanced a look at Taehyung who climbed onto the other side of Jimin. He couldn't fathom why he had said yes to this, maybe it was because Jimin seemed sweet and genuine. Plus the way he begged him, he couldn't say no to those eyes. Curse his love for cute things.
