3rd person pov 
kai thought parties were stupid, why do parties exist? something bad always happens, last one she went to her brother almost died and she had to save him. The idea of parties was stupid and weird and yet here she was, but for a good reason. 
"sam whats going on?" she asked and sam scoffed 
"we're finding my sister. I told her she couldn't come here tonight cause something bad was gonna happen and she didn't listen to me. If something happens to her I'm screwed. And I mean Chad and Mindy are here so they could be doing something stupid and you wouldn't be able to stop them if you weren't here so it's good that we're going." sam said and kai grabbed her shoulders 
"breathe sam, she's 18. She's in college. She knows what she's doing and she's not being stupid about this. I know that you want to protect her after everything that happened this year but you can't hold onto her forever. You can't act like she isn't gonna get tired of this because she will at some point. Whatever you go in and do right now is gonna affect some someway and I want you to be smart about this before you just go in not thinking. You realize this could end badly, right?" she asked and sam ran a hand through her hair and nodded 
"of course I do but she's my sister and you know how teenage boys are they rape people people they hurt people. I'm not letting something happen to my sister." she reasoned and kai nodded in understanding. 
"OK well I'm gonna go in and find Chad and Mindy just to make sure they're OK when you're ready to come in and maybe calmed down, I'll find you and we can get your sister and get my siblings and get out of there but don't do this without me OK. Make sure I'm there so you won't do something stupid" kai stated and sam nodded. kai walked away and into the house. she looked around and saw mindy sitting on the couch with anika. she waved at kai who waved back and then she pointed at chad. 
"kai you came" chad called excitedly and then he looked at the cup in his hand as he poured it out into the fake plant and ethan did the same thing. 
"I did were you drinking again?" she asked and he sighed 
"this is how I get past what happened you need to accept that. I know you want to protect me and Mindy but you can't do that forever. I'm gonna drink I'm gonna smoke I'm gonna do stupid things and you're gonna have to let me do it and you're gonna have to get used to it that's just how this is gonna be" he told her and she stared at him. 
"fine, do what you want but when you ruin your life and everything begins to fall apart don't come crying to me because you didn't listen to me" she said and he stared at her. she was serious and for some reason, seeing his sister so serious and angry with him didn't feel right. sure his sister was older and she could be mean but she was never mean to him and now she was. 
"hey big guy, we need your help" anika said to chad and he turned to ethan and then kai. she made eye contact with ethan and looked him up and down. 
"you must be ethan" she exclaimed 
"and you must be kai, he told me all about you ya know" he stated and she laughed. 

"good so you know not to act tough" she spoke and she followed after her brother where she saw tara on the stairs with the resident date rapist frankie. He had a tendency to put date, rape drugs into peoples drinks , and you know rape them. Kai wanted to say something, but she stopped when she realized that Chad was doing something about it. 
"kai a little help here" chad called to her and tara turned to her 
"what did sam send you to watch me? she doesn't need to send her bitch dog, I get it alright. i can't live my life without her hating me for it and I can't do anything or I'm in the wrong and I deserve to be shunned" tara said and frankie laughed 
"okay don't go after her, this is about me and you tara. let her go frankie" chad reasoned even though he was the one who brought Kai into it in the first place. 
"chad no its fine I want to" she stated and then frankie tugged her. 
"yeah chad, she wants to" he told him and when he tugged her, chad grabbed his arm and pulled him off of her. she fell into kai and even though Kai was hurt by the words she said, she felt some sort of way, and like she had to protect the girl. Sam wasn't here to do that, so Kai had to.
"hey, I'm just gonna taze you in the dick real quick" sam told frankie and she tazed him In the balls. he cried out and he fell to the ground. tara scoffed and pushed herself out of kais arms 
"sam" she scoffed and kai turned to sam 
"i thought i told you to not do anything stupid and wait for me" she said and she walked out after tara meaning the others followed after them too. kai walked ahead of them but behind tara and when sam called to tara, kai kept walking. 
"chad, mindy lets go. i gotta get you two home" she said and they stared at her 
"kai wait" sam called 
"ill see you in the morning, have a good night sam" she stated and she walked off with her two siblings following after her 
if only she saw the way sam looked at her
