Isla knew she was in trouble. Levi stood in the doorway, while she was in bed with Liam. This would not look like what it truthfully was, if Levi saw Liam. Thankfully with Jonathan standing on the bed, Uncle Levi couldn’t see Liam, but she shouldn’t have still been in bed. She needed to get Levi out, before Liam fully woke.
She jumped out of bed, after subtly covering Liam with the blankets. “Uncle Levi! I was-”
“Sleeping?” Levi guessed, unimpressed.
“... Looking for somethin’,” Isla tried to keep her voice somewhat low so that Liam wouldn’t wake.
“On your bed?” Levi cocked a brow.
“.. My vial of Silverberry juice. I skipped dinner last night so I was- am hungry. I just figured it could tie me over til break…” She began then paused when she glanced at Jonathan who was making a gesture to tell her it wasn’t breakfast time. “Lunch! Wait, lunch, already?.. Um, yeah, of course. Lunch.” She was hoping to not have to give the information of skipping dinner last night, but it got her out of this pickle.
“Your hair is little ratty to just be—”
“--I was trainin’ with Leo, and forgot to comb my hair!”
“In your pajamas?”
“Early mornin’ session!”
“Without your bed made?”
Isla got onto the bed and began slowly straightening out the blankets. “It was made. I just was searchin’ so much I messed it up. That’s all.” At least, her story seemed to check out with Jonathan still standing on the edge of the bed. But Isla knew Levi would end up seeing a lump on her bed when she got him and Jonathan out of the room. She put her hand over Liam’s mouth, and slowly pushed him to the left end of the bed, then off the end to the floor, jumping off the bed to sell the noise.
Levi’s eyebrows raised in sudden shock at the thump on the floor.
Isla sat on the floor on the left, not-so-visible side. She clamped her hand over Liam’s mouth and silently shushed him. “Found it! See? I- I told you. Come on, Jon, we should get goin’.” She lifted Jonathan who had been just looking from her to Levi during the conversation off the bed, and she pushed Levi towards the door out of the bedroom entirely. “I can see you’re upset so let’s discuss this somewhere else.” She lightly shouted to signal Liam of the good news that they were leaving, but instead, signaling him to come out of hiding, before they’d left.
“Hey! What’s the big idea? I was being quiet. What else did you want?!” Liam rubbed his forehead and stood to his feet walking up to her.
Isla face-palmed in frustration. Yep! He sealed it. She was gonna be in so much trouble. She glared daggers at him, but he just retaliated. She rolled her eyes.
Levi, for once, looked shocked. Then he regained his outlook. “The little one and I will let you two have some space. We will discuss your lack of patience later.” He picked Jonathan up from Isla’s arms, and set him down so that Jonathan could walk himself.
Liam looked at Isla in aggravated confusion as Levi and Jonathan walked out and Levi closed the door. Isla was bright red in the face and ears, and she was biting her bottom lip hard enough to leave a temporary mark which Liam thought was cute, but he was too mad at her, so he tried to not think too much of it.
He didn’t understand what Levi meant by “lack of patience” but besides that, he thought it was handled well. He didn’t know why Isla was so mad.
“He took it well.” Liam said nonchalantly.
“Well?!” Isla snapped. “That’s ‘well’ to you?!”
