"I'm so full." Lani said as she finished off her 3rd mimosa. The three of us decided to have brunch. It's been a week since the university semester started so our classes been kicking our ass. Besides that, we also have work and brand deals so getting situated in general has been a little hectic. So we definitely needed this break.
"Of course you are. You've had two dishes of chicken Alfredo and 3 mimosas" kari stated snickering. "Uht uht. Don't come for me when you and Naé were stealing some of my food the whole time." Lani commented.
"I was making sure your food wasn't poisoned. Kari just greedy cause she was eating off my plate too." I laughed.
This wasn't anything new. We were always eating off each other's plates whenever we ordered something different.
"Anywayyy" Kari dragged laughing wanting to switch the topic. " We live together but I feel like I haven't seen you guys this past week. We been so busy, what's new with my besties?"
"Bitch I might as well drop out of university with the way I'm feeling. I've been behind in posting makeup and clothing content so it's like when I get back from wherever I was, I have no time to rest cause I have to get that done. And more brands have been contacting me to set up meetings so I have to squeeze all that in. Then tell me why I already have a mid term assignment that I have to get started on." Lani ranted.
" I feel the same way." I expressed sighing. " It's only the first week and I'm exhausted; I have to go to the gym and make sure to post my fitness links for my subscribers, post clothing content and promote the brands I'm partnered with and I also have some assignments I need to work on. I've also been looking for a lil warehouse for my swimsuit line."
I was grateful that almost everything in my life was coming together but it could be so stressful at times. I was grateful regardless and always thanking God for what I have cause my life coulda been real bad.
"I love that we all in our bag but damn I be tired asf. And I could ask Nasir to look for available warehouses for you." Kari chimed in referring to the real estate agent that helped her get her studio. "I might have to start doing some of my assignments online."
"Awww thank you Kari, I appreciate that. Girl you really busy. If I switched to online classes I might as well drop out. Can't take it seriously. " I voiced laughing.
I hated online learning. I couldn't take it seriously at all. During covid, my grades were really low because I wasn't even attending any of the classes or submitting assignments. I was always sleeping in or just doing something else. I had the mentality that there was no class at all.
"I'm already knowing. We have to drag you just to make it for your morning sessions." Lani chuckled.
"That's why I'm just submitting assignments online. I wouldn't manage full online learning as well. I just hope it doesn't get to that point because my schedule is getting too full with directing and producing the videos."
"Speaking of directing, you'll never guess who just got in contact with my team to set up a meeting with me."Kari said sitting up in her seat getting excited.
"Rob49?" Lani guessed cheesing hard asl. She swore he was the finest man alive.
"Girl no. It's Lil baby" Kari said laughing. "He's label manager contacted me and let me know that they were interested in my services but they wanted to go over a few things. We'll be meeting next week."
"I'm happy for you. Lil baby's a great artist so this is only going to add on to your successful career." I voiced.
"Yeah. Congratulations babes. I just hope is a nice person and easy to work with in real life. Cause if he acts like that other nigga I'm going to have to pull up on him" Lani added on.
I wouldn't doubt that. While I was more reserved and avoided confrontation at all costs, Lani and Kari made up for that. Of course I wasn't going to let anyone talk down on me but I didn't really like having to argue with someone in the first place.
"Me too. But lil baby seems like the type not to play about his money so we'll just have to wait and see." "True." I agreed.
After talking and ordering a few more drinks and takeout that we were going to have for dinner, We finally decided that we were ready to leave. I asked the waiter for the chèque and paid the bill. We always took turns paying for each other and today was my turn.
When we made it home, we decided to freshen up and take a showers. After doing so we settled in the living room and opened up Netflix to watch this new series from.
Two episodes later and we all fell asleep. . . . . . . . . Heyyyyy! 😂 So thoughts on this chapter? Do y'all like how it's going? Do you love their friendship? Baby and Kari's meeting about to happen so that's when things are going to really start to unfold.
