The moment Jamie got home, he realized he hated how empty his house felt. My presence during the few weeks prior to my move to Cora's place made him completely forget about the emptiness that lingered in his house before I moved in with him temporarily. He claims that I brought his house to life while I was there. I always cooked and we always did something dumb and childish together. I knew how to make him laugh. While I was there, his house didn't feel so lonely to him anymore.
Jamie used to spend his days holed up in his house either doing nothing or just working on music. He didn't feel happy in his own home until I came around. He says that I could always light up the room.
He quickly shook off the loneliness that started getting to him and took a shower, going straight to bed afterward. Even though he tried, he couldn't fall asleep. That emptiness, that loneliness, it didn't let him sleep.
Suddenly, his phone buzzed with a new message. He picked it up quickly but he threw it away just as quickly when he noticed that it wasn't me who was texting him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------SAM: "You up? I was wondering when we were getting back to work again."
JAMIE: "Ask Jess, Sam."
SAM: "You okay?"
JAMIE: "Yes, I'm fine."
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------More messages buzzed in Jamie's phone but he ignored all of them, silencing his phone completely. A few minutes later, he finally fell asleep as his mind slowly stopped. A few hours later, he woke up in the middle of the night with a bad feeling. A feeling that something wasn't right. Panic and stress filled his whole body and he forgot how to breathe for a second. What the hell was going on? What was wrong with him? He got up as he quickly grabbed his phone and rushed to his bathroom, pacing around in circles as he dialed the only person he could think of at that moment. Me.
"Jamie? Is everything alright? It's the middle of the night. What's going on?" my voice sounded through his phone, my tone tired and sleepy.
"I-" he tried speaking but his words caught in his throat as he struggled to talk. He choked as he tried to breathe and his heart rate quickened.
"Jamie, listen to me. I am on my way. I'm going to stay on the line and you gotta talk to me, okay? You hear me? Just breathe and talk to me. I'm going to be there soon." I said with my voice soft and gentle, trying to comfort him.
"I- I can't." he choked out as he continued pacing in his bathroom, his eyes filling up with tears.
"Listen to me, Jamie. Listen to my voice. Just breathe. Focus and take a deep breath. You can do it, pretty boy." I said, my tone as sweet and tender as it could be. He said that it made him forget all his troubles.
"Did you just- Did- Did you call me- Did you just call me pretty boy?" Jamie managed to stutter out in between his shallow breaths.
"I did because you're pretty. Keep going Jamie. You're doing great. I'm almost there, just keep taking deep breaths." I said and Jamie kept trying to take deep breaths as I slowly reached his house. A few minutes later, I arrived to his place, immediately running to him. As soon as my arms fell around him, we sank to the floor and Jamie's mind basically fell apart.
