For some minutes it felt like my ears were ringing as everything my mother just said came rushing back in my head. She never really loved me, she wanted to kill me. All because of what? Could I really believe the story she was telling me?

Life could be funny sometimes, imagine the woman I spent years crying over, missing her every single day thinking that she was dead. Never did I know she has been wandering this earth planning her revenge.

“ Hey, hey," I heard Matthew's voice bringing me out of my thoughts.

“ She's not worth it, believe me, don't let her bother you, the only thing we should be concerned about is how to get out of this hell hole, don't think too much," Matthew said and I nodded. He drew me to his chest as his arms protectively wrapped around me.

“ Everything will be alright Shorty, everything will be fine," he said, dropping a kiss on my head.

It didn't seem to me like things will be alright. I felt like I've been lied to all my life and I was scared to find out who was right or wrong because at the end of the day I'd still be hurt.

I sighed before wrapping my hands tightly around Matthew. He was my solace right now, I don't know what I'll do if he wasn't here with me.

“ You know, thinking about the memories I had with my Mom as a kid, I find it so hard to believe she's the same woman who stood in front of me telling me she hates me and I was just a mistake. It's hard Matthew, I felt so loved but I don't know what to think anymore, I don't know how I feel," I said as I felt my eyes burn.

" I know how you feel but trust me when I say you're better off without her, she left for such a long time and you were fine all those years without her, you don't need her now.” He said and I nodded.

" You're right, she's only a ghost to me and that's how it would remain,” I said,

" That's my girl, cheer up,” he said as he rubbed my shoulder.

We both became quiet as we got lost in our thoughts. Some minutes ago Mathew almost died and then the next thing I know my Mom drops a bomb that has my world shaking.

The devil sure knows how to keep the show going.

I jerked up and felt arms around me. I didn't even know I had fallen asleep. I turned to look at Matthew who had his eyes closed. We were both tired and there wasn't a doubt about that.

“ Mathew, Mathew," I whispered, waking him up and he groaned before he peeled his eyes open.

“ Yeah,” he said,

" We need to think of something, we need to find a way to get out of here, believe me when I tell you they're planning something worse for us and you know it's going to be terrible,” I said and he nodded.

“ I know that Cara and I've been thinking, what way can we get out of here alive? There's no doubt that this place is heavily guarded, so what are we going to do?” He asked.

He was right and whatever plan we wanted to make we had to make sure that we don't get caught because if we do, there would be more trouble for us.

“ We can't just sit here and wait for more torture. Let's think, think," I said as I rubbed my forehead in frustration. It didn't help that they were watching us like hawks.

“ I don't know Matthew, this is frustrating, I'm sure this dungeon we are in we can't easily get out," I said, sounding like I was already accepting defeat but Matthew shook his head.

“ There has to be something we can do, we can't accept defeat, we need to think." He said.

There just has to be something we can do to get out of here.

GABRIEL

My life in this mansion felt like it was numbered anytime I see the Don or anytime he calls for me.

We still haven't found Cara but we were trying all our possible best to make sure we find her.

Right now we were sitting in the meeting room with the Don staring at us like he wanted to shoot us with his eyes.

“ I'm going to ask for the last time, where is my daughter?” I clenched my jaw because we still didn't have an answer to that, not me and I don't think our hackers do. We were all trying but that wasn't what the Don wanted to hear.

“ We're still…” he raised his hand, shutting whatever I wanted to say.

“ It's been more than a fucking month and you're still trying?" He asked in anger as he slammed his hands on the table. I didn't dare speak as he looked at me.

“ I'm giving you fuckers by the end of the week, if you don't find my daughter, heads are going to roll," he said and I knew he wasn't joking.

When Don Santiago says something he's going to follow through with it. He wasn't a man that gave empty threats.

" Gabriel,” he called and I felt my heart skip a beat.

" Yes Don,” I answered,

" What is one thing that I hate?” He asked and I knew that I had to carefully answer that question.

" Slackers.” I said.

" Good, now what are you going to do?” He asked, looking at me with hard eyes that sent chills up my spine.

“ I'm going to do everything within my power to make sure that I find her,” I said with determination.

" That's what I like to hear, now get…" he didn't finish what he wanted to say as the door burst open and Angelo, one of our hackers, walked in holding a laptop. The look on his face told me we were either going to like what he had to say or get into more trouble.
