"Mommy, Daddy... I will jump from this bridge if you didn't make Yiling Patriarch marry me..." Wangji yelled like a spoiled brat...
His parents are getting worried for him but for him, marrying Yiling Patriarch is more important than caring about others who care about him.
Yiling Patriarch & his parents were childhood friends. Mr Lan & Mrs Lan talked to their childhood friends after seeing Wangji's stubbornness.
Wangji is so happy about the news about his marriage. After a few days later Wei Wuxian married Wangji...
At that time Wuxian was 19 years old while Wangji was 17 years old. Wuxian was forced by his parents, his parents & Wangji's parents begged him to marry Wangji. 
Wangji loves Wuxian but for Wuxian, Wangji is a burden whom he needs to take care of.

Wangji has changed so much. He is not that spoiled or stubborn Wangji Anymore. He has improved himself more in everything from sword to kitchen.
