Mirio

"Tama.." I said softly. "What..are you.."

"I've been..wanting to tell you something for a long time.." He said back, opening his eyes.

I smiled and opened my eyes, nodding softly. "Yeah?"

He inhaled and exhaled slowly, a warm tint coating his face. "I-"

Thud

We both heard the front door open, Tamaki flinched while I beamed up.

It's dad!

"Hold that thought, okay?" I smiled and moved off, stretching my arms.

Tamaki slowly sat up and watched me, before looking back down. The times when he acts like this was around people or if he was upset..

"Or on second thought, I have time to hear what you were going to say!" I panicked, throwing my hands around.

There was a knock on my door and we both froze up. I sighed and cracked the door open so he was only able to see me. "..Dad!"

"Hey kiddo!" My dad exclaimed, beaming brightly as he hugged me.

I laughed and hugged back. "You're in a good mood, huh?"

"What, am I not allowed to hug my own son?" He teased, shaking his head.

"No, I love it! That's good!- I, uh-" I glanced at Tamaki before looking back at my dad. "We have some company."

"Company? Well, when are they coming over?" He questioned, crossing his arms.

I laughed nervously. "Ah, yes! Well-"

My dad just smirked and raised an eyebrow. "It's a girl, huh? I know that look anywhere, you're in love~"

"What?! I- uh-" I began before giving up. I might as well tell him now before he gets to even more detail. I opened the door all the way, letting him see Tamaki.

I looked over, and felt butterflies in my stomach.

Tama stood there was the cutest smile on his face, his eyes shining bright and his hands set in his own. He lifted his hand and parted his bangs slightly, then held a hand out to my dad afterward. "I hope I didn't disturb you on such short notice."

My dad only brightened up at the sight, grabbing Tamaki's hand and pulling him into a warm embrace. "Oh god no! It's alright! Make yourself at home! Any friend of my son is welcome here!"

Tamaki smiled and hugged back. "I'm sure you worked very hard today, I can make you some food if you'd like, I don't mind at all!"

"Just as kind as he says you are!" My dad says, smiling. "Thank you, but don't worry about that! I've got a terrific recipe to try anyways."

"Oh, alright!" Tamaki began before smiling. "..Mirio talks about me?"

I flinched and laughed, rubbing my neck nervously. "Whaaaatt?? Nooo!"

"C'mon don't be modest-" My dad teased before taking another look at Tamaki. His eyes lit up even more.

"I almost didn't recognize you! Tamaki! You used to come over all the time when you two were kids! Ah, those were the good ol' days when I was younger-" My dad states, earning a laugh from Tamaki.

I smiled and laughed with them, it was nice to see them getting along.

We all headed downstairs, my dad turned into the kitchen while me and Tama sat at the dining room.

He heated up the pan and took out a few eggs. "Play any sports, kiddo?"

"Oh..no. I just don't have that competitive spirit like Mirio does.." Tamaki comments.

My dad scoffed. "Nonsense! I'm sure you can pull in a few points! You seem like the soccer type! Ever try that?"

"When I was a kid yeah..but it just didn't stick. Maybe if there's a new spot open, I could try out!" Tamaki states.

My dad finished up the scrambled eggs, placing them on the plate to cool off. "I'm sure you could! I don't mind taking Mirio around to watch you play!"

"Really?" He glanced at me and gave me a smile.

I perked up and nodded. "Of course!"

I sighed and watched the two talk, from complete nonsense, back to what Tamaki's classes were. I placed my elbow on the table and rested my head on the palm of my hand. My eyes couldn't get enough of him.

Tamaki was bright, and I didn't want to miss a single second of it. Like magic, a smile formed on my face, and I couldn't put it down.

"Here you go! An egg for you," My dad began setting the egg on the table. Tamaki gasped and took the fork afterward.

"Thank you! I appreciate it!" Tamaki says before ravishing into his food like a hungry hyena.

I chuckled at him, watching from his gaze to the egg, back to my dad in a loving way. He's so sweet..

"Don't thank me, be careful it's hot-" My dad called before placing the plate in front of me. "And for my favorite son!-"

My dad glanced at me and watched my dazed state. How my eyes traveled from Tamaki's fork, back to the way he ate it down. I sighed and chuckled. "Careful..Tama.."

Tamaki looked up, his mouth stuffed. I noticed that he had already finished up, and a bit of butter was on his face. "Mm..Omkay!"

"Hold up," I got up and moved beside him, grabbing a napkin. He looked down and finished up, his face getting shyer.

I sighed, and tilted his chin up, his eyes stared at me and for a second I hesitated. "Sorry..just.."

"It's okay.." Tama says softly.

I wiped his face off, his eyes brightening. I smiled and let go, letting Tama finish.

My dad crossed his arms and watched me and Tama have a moment. We gave each other one last look before pulling away.

"Done?" My dad asked, grabbing my plate of egg. "Mirio. Get his plate and help me with dishes. Now."

I perked up and nodded, taking his plate.

"Mirio.."

"It's alright, don't worry. You're the visitor, you don't need to do anything." I gave Tamaki a wink and walked into the kitchen with my dad.

"Mirio." My dad states, placing my dish on the counter.

"Yeah dad?" I asked, coming up with Tamaki's.

I placed it in the sink, before he grabs my wrist. I looked up at him , trying to decipher what he was thinking, but I just..came up empty.
