Asahi woke up that morning with a numbing feeling, his parents had him go to Korea for university so he lived in a guest house with ten other guys. As lively as it was Asahi couldn't just seem to feel the enjoyment he was supposed to feel.

He sighed, he wanted the numbness to go away so he could feel a little more.

"Asahi, Jihoon made breakfast," Yedam said poking his head into the room.

Yedam was the house owner, he just graduated from high school and joined the majority of them in university since all but one was still in high school.

Asahi shook his head, "No I'm not hungry."

The feeling of hunger, how dangerous it was to be a lacuna. The lack of the emotions a normal human should have. The feelings of hunger, love, happiness, sadness, anger, confusion, and others, were all something Asahi could not feel.

So when Yedam nodded and closed the door, Asahi looked down at his lap and sighed again. Food was something Asahi forced himself to eat knowing he was skinny enough and his mom worried about him every time they called.

Asahi was the only one in the house who had his own room, did he feel lonely? Perhaps he did, being alone with yourself while feeling nothing wasn't ideal for the male.

Oddly enough he would find himself crying or screaming at times, maybe he felt fear not knowing what he was feeling.

The feelings he felt weren't strong enough for him to recognize in any way nor does he understand the feelings other people have toward him without them telling him. However, his recognition was only due to dictionary definitions.

"Asahi?"

Asahi looked up and saw Mashiho, another Japanese student in the house, "yeah?"

"Did you want to walk to school with me?"

Asahi nodded, "Sure."

He didn't know what he wanted but it didn't stop him from wearing his baggy clothes with a beanie. Grabbing his bag and putting his shoes on at the door to join the guys on their venture to the university.

Yoshi, Mashi, and Hyunsuk were talking among each other while Asahi walked behind them. His head filled with nothing but, it was enough to disconnect him from the world around him.

"Get out of the way!"

"Asahi watch out!"

Asahi was brought back when something slammed into his back knocking him to the pavement.

"Are you okay?"

However, all Asahi could think of was, is this pain?

There were scratches on his palms and knees, a slight stinging feeling to them and up to his back. Asahi's face showed a small sign of pain when he got up but no one caught it since he was too busy looking at his hands.

"Omg, I am so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you, it's my first time riding my skateboard to school," the person touched Asahi's hands.

The boy felt a jolt and pulled his hands away looking up at the boy, "Uh, it's okay?"

The male smiled and tilted his head, "you don't seem too sure."

"Sorry, our friend here is kind of socially exempt," Mashiho said putting a hand on the boy's shoulder.

"Don't worry about it, he's probably just feeling taken back or confused," the male said.

Yoshi started to speak up about Asahi's condition but Hyunsuk elbowed him before the boy got a word out.

Hyunsuk chuckled, "What's your name?"

"Oh, I'm Yoon Jaehyuk, you guys?"

"Yoon is a unique last name isn't it," Mashi asked.

Yoshi nodded, "I'm Yoshi! These are Mashiho, Hyunsuk, and Asahi."

"That's Hyung to you," Hyunsuk said.

"You can join us, we are walking to school," Mashiho said.

Jaehyuk nodded, "Sounds good!"

He picked up his skateboard and Asahi was still in Mashi's grasp when they started to walk again. Asahi believes that he felt uncomfortable because he wasn't in his normal spot, he was a stranger and his hands still stung.

"Hey maybe we should take Asahi to the infirmary," he spoke up remembering how badly his hands were scraped.

"I'll go alone," Asahi said, the male made him feel things and he wasn't capable of understanding what it was, fear?

The male slipped from his friend's grasp and he was alone, finally. He was able to feel numb once again the stinging on his hands, was gone.

What would be the point in going now? His friends would ask questions which he didn't want to answer.

A tear slipped from his eye, he wiped it with the back of his hand when he walked into the infirmary.

The nurse looked up, "what did you need help with?"

Asahi lifted his hands showing his dirty scraped bloody palms, she gasped surprised, "I need to clean it so I can go to class."

The nurse brought out the kit and had Asahi sit down, "what happened to you?"

"I fell."

"Does it hurt?"

"No."

"How are you feeling? In general."

"I feel okay, the normal."

The nurse sighed a bit cleaning the wounds up and bandaging them after she was finished cleaning them up. The nurse knew about his condition and normally asked him if anything had changed. Asahi wasn't ready to tell her about what happened earlier.

"Okay well, get back to class, I don't want you too late."

Asahi nodded thanking her before grabbing his bag and heading back to attend his first class.
