Felix arrived at the party a bit later than his friends since he didn't have a ride so he ended up having to walk. Usually he would have just gotten a ride from Hyunjin but the two had fought a couple hours earlier and he, in all honesty, wasn't sure where they stood in terms of relationship right then.

It was around 4 in the afternoon when Felix got to Hyunjins house and knocked on the door. His boyfriend answered it quickly and instead of inviting him in, he pulled him out, until the two were practically going on a walk, not a word having been said.

"Hyunjin? Weren't we going to get ready for the party together?"

"....Lixie...I think..maybe..we should spend some time apart.." While processing his words, Felix teared up immediately, hoping with everything he had that it was just an idiotic joke.

     "W-what do you mean?"

"You know how my mom feels about us..I just think it's better we keep a bit more distance till we graduate."

As much as the younger wanted to be more understanding of him, he couldn't find it in him. Way back when they first started dating Hyunjin had come out to his mom, and she'd lived with them being together just fine up until then. On top of that, Felix had offered countless times that Hyunjin could stay with him if his mom was too unaccepting.

Of course he was upset, because Hyunjin promised him that no matter what other people thought or felt, they would stay together. They would handle the criticism together. They would get through it together.

     "I'm sorry Felix..I just..I don't wanna disappoint her."

"Oh so suddenly her approval is more important than your love for me?" Felix didn't mean to seem rude, he hated being rude, but he felt he had right to act like that. "You care about someone who doesn't accept your preferences over someone who's been there for you when she didn't? Someone who can't love you as you are and tries to change you over someone who's loved you since the beginning? You know what, if it matters that much to you then fine! Take a break from me! Go ahead!"

With that, he took off the couple rings Hyunjin had gifted him on their anniversary a few months earlier and threw them in his face, before running back home in tears.

More than anything, Felix wanted to stay home and cry in his room, eating ice cream and binging dumb romcoms while feeling sorry for himself, maybe even inviting his friends for some comfort because he didn't like being alone, and he especially didn't like being alone and sad. But Mrs. Hans party was important to Jisung, and he'd promised to be there, so he just had to pretend like nothing happened, hoping the makeup he had in was enough to cover the amount he'd cried before and while getting ready.

Soon, he approached the door, not really bothering to knock before going in because Hans house was always like a second home to him, plus he probably wouldn't be heard over the noise of the party, as it started a while ago.

When he walked in, his first thought was to find his friends, knowing he wouldn't be able to make it through the party and not breakdown otherwise. Eventually he found Seungmin and Jeongin in the kitchen, conversing while snacking (as one does).

"Hey guys." He smiled warmly, the other two immediately doing the same, as anyone would because of how contagious it was.

     "Hi Lix."

"Hi hyung!" Both the two spoke, Seungmin quickly feeding him one of the chips from the bag he had. (Me and my friends do that all the time🤷🏻‍♀️)
