A few days passed since Kara took Oliver in to help him recover. She got up early one day, in her light blue pjs with a braided hair, and tried her best to make some breakfast, but she was really terrible in the kitchen and only managed to burn the pancakes. The kitchen was filled with smoke and Kara used her powers to make them go away faster.
- Whoa, what happened? – Oliver asked, noticing Kara struggling.
- I tried to be a nice host and make some pancakes, but it backfired... - She laughed, making Oliver laugh too.
- Oh, you didn't have to – Oliver said – You are naturally nice, and let me stay with you, so...
- Thank you – Kara smiled – Well, I guess I can just go and grab some food...
- Oh, no need for that. Let me return the favor, by making breakfast.
- Do you cook? – Kara looked surprised at him
- Yes. People usually like my food, so is safe – He teased – Just tell me where everything is and I'll do the rest.
Kara showed him everything and just watched him do his magic on the kitchen. He seemed to be a bit better and in less pain, so it was a good thing. She kept staring at him with curiosity in her eyes, and Oliver noticed.
- Is everything ok? – He asked
- Yes, I'm sorry... - She laughed, nervously – Is just that... I don't know a lot of vigilantes, I mean, my cousin is friends with one, but I never got to meet one. I'm just curious... What is it like?
- Is insanely dangerous, it requires a lot of focus, cold blood and a lot of training. Is not easy but... I love it. I don't think I ever said that to anyone before, but... I felt a lot of guilt by everything my dad did, and at first, it felt like I had this responsibility to make things right but then I realized it was so much more than that. My city needed me and my team, to keep fighting for justice and making our hometown a better place. I think you know the feeling – He smiled back at her as he kept cooking.
- Yes, I do. There's nothing like it. For me, I feel this way when I'm flying. I can see the entire city, feel the wind... Is peaceful.
- What other powers you have? – He was a bit unsure if he should ask this, but his curiosity took the best of him.
- I can fly, I have super strength, super speed, super hearing, x-ray vision, heat vision, freeze breath – She said as she thought about it – I'm bulletproof...
- Bulletproof? That must be cool – He said as he looked in awe to her – Because bullet wounds are not fun.
Oliver finished preparing their breakfast and they sat down to eat.
- I also can eat a lot, if you know what I mean, so I'm really happy with this breakfast. – She said as she tried his food, feeling like she could just float from happiness because it was a delicious food. – Ok, you're really good in the kitchen.
- Thanks – Oliver laughed, starting to eat too.
He couldn't help but noticing how talking to Kara made him feel so relaxed and chill, things he could never even think it was possible before given the fact that it took so long for him to trust people and let them in. Being stranded on another Earth and almost dying, being saved by a beautiful and sweet alien put some things into perspective for him. The little time he spent on her Earth, he could see how she was always focused on saving and helping people, how she always fought for what she thought it was right, how she was always sweet and kind to everyone. She reminded him a lot of Barry and it made him feel warmth inside, knowing there was good people out there willing to be super heroes, and give everything in them to make sure other people were safe. He knew this life wasn't easy and how it demanded a few sacrifices from someone and it amazed him that in a few days he spent at the DEO, he saw Kara jump into dangerous missions and still smile and be positive about things, because he could never.
