The minds of other mutants and humans around her made her feel sick, nauseated, and gave her a migraine. Lunar didn't remove the helmet though, she just gritted her teeth and focused on the goal: finding Jean and Logan. Blood dripped out of her nose and onto the control panel as the strain of amplifying her powers continued to take its toll. She felt her body slump to the side as darkness began to cloud her vision as the small grip of control she had over Cerebro slip, only managing to catch a faint glimpse of a pine forest full of mutants before sliding into darkness.
"Lunar, Lunar can you hear me?" A faint sound of a male's voice cut through the darkness in her mind. "Lunar, you need to wake up."
She didn't respond for a few moments as she tried to place the voice, finally determining it was Beast, and a blurry image of his blue fur entered her vision as she slowly opened her eyes. Lunar heard him sigh as she got her sight back and realized she was still inside Cerebro lying on the cool floor, however, the helmet had been taken off and was now back in its place on the control panel.
Beast leaned back as he saw her start to move but still managed to shine a light in her eyes, which she swatted away in annoyance. "Hmm, no sign of damage, your eyes are dilating normally... How do you feel?"
"Tired, and now that you flashed that light in my eyes annoyed." She tried not to sound too irritated; he was after all, only trying to help. "How did you find me?"
"Scott told Storm and she came to me." He replied as he helped her get up. "What were you thinking? Without Professor's help you could die using Cerebro if you can't handle the power."
This time she didn't hide her irritation and gave a snappy remark. "I get it, okay? Everyone has told me that I shouldn't, that it isn't safe, that I could die, but I needed to see what Magneto and the others were doing."
"What did you see?" He asked after a long sigh.
"A pine forest... filled with mutants." She replied quietly.
Beast was silent as he led the way to where Scott was pacing in the hallway with Storm leaning against the wall with a grim look on her face. They looked up as Beast stopped and Lunar was a bit confused when he shook his head.
The other two got worried expressions and Lunar decided to figure out why. "What's going on? Did something else happen?"
"Magneto had two mutants attack a human facility giving out free cures to mutants, not long after we saw that on the news Bobby came by and said Rogue was missing." Storm explained. "We need to stop him and find Rogue."
"I can stop Magneto." Lunar offered. "I know where their camp is."
Scott's gaze snapped from the wall to her. "Cerebro?"
She nodded. "It's in a pine forest. Jean and Logan are there too."
"No, you can't go alone." Beast shook his furry head. "You are in no condition to fight."
"I'll be fine." She argued. "I'm a fast healer, let them try attacking me."
"I'll go with her half way." Scott offered. "Then I'll drop her off and continue on my way to find Rogue, I think Bobby and I can find where she went."
Beast and Storm glanced at each other before nodding in acceptance. Beast pushed up his glassed before walking away. "Don't do anything to get killed, we need all the mutants we can get to defeat Eric."
"Not when I'm finished with this mission." Lunar called back with a small grin. "By tonight all you'll need to finish him off is a shovel and dirt."
Scott didn't look so sure as they went upstairs to find Bobby. "You really shouldn't go in alone."
"One person will be less noticeable than a group." She responded before knocking on Bobby's door. "Besides, I'll be in my wolf form, if anything most of them will just think I'm an actual animal just passing through."
"And you'll risk that? What if they decide to use you as target practice? A large wolf like you would make a nice rug or blanket once you're skinned."
Lunar scowled. "I can read their intentions, if they try killing me I'll strike them first."
Bobby opened the door before they could continue; he glanced at them a bit detachedly before speaking. "What do you want? Training doesn't start again until tomorrow."
"We're going to find Rogue and considering you're closest to her you have to come help figure out where she could've gone." Scott replied. "Get ready and meet us at the jet in five minutes."
Bobby nodded and shut the door to change into a more suitable outfit other than his rumbled suit from the funeral. Scott started walking down the hall to catch up with Lunar, who had already left half way through that short conversation, and was about to continue his lecture on needing at least one other person for backup before she held up a hand to stop him.
"If you're so concerned for my safety just come with me." Lunar sighed, tired of their argument. "Otherwise, drop it. This is my decision, I'm not one of your students and I never will be. You can't control what I decide to do."
Scott looked like he was going to say something but seemed to think better of it and continued walking in silence, after all, what she had just said was true; he couldn't control what she did. About three minutes later Bobby ran down to the jet and sat down in one of the chairs behind him while Lunar took a seat opposite the student and looked out the window, part of him worried he had pressed to far into the matter of her spying on Magneto's camp safely while the other part said he was just doing his duty as the leader of the X-men... Not that it was much of a team anymore with Storm at the school and Logan and Jean leaving. At least they still had the newer team members, if they didn't start leaving too.
