What?

I sat there, shocked at what I was just told that I had to do. Fiddling with the hem of my top, I asked, "What do y-you mean by that?"

"You hold the future of titans in your womb. You will need to bear one of our offspring," Erebus explained and then kneeled in front of me with a white flower in his hand. "You are the key to our survival."

"L-Let me get this down," I slowly took the flower and examined it. "Y-You want me t-to choose one of y-you to save t-the titan s-species?"

"It is our duty to our society that once flourished through the lands only dead by the acts of war," Remus elaborated.

I stared into Erebus' galactic orbs while tears swelled in my eyes. "I-I can't. I-I'm sorry." I shook my head, handing the flower back to him. "I-I won't be able t-to pick."

"Why is that?" Khaos narrowed his eyes and I felt embarrassed to explain my situation to them.

"I-It would be u-unfair to you all. M-My heart belongs to another," I softly admitted. "I c-can't."

"Do not tell me you are still pondering that nephalem?" Denarius asked and then turned to Remus. "I do not see why you are doing this. It is obvious he needs a mate bond to get over his love."

Remus kept a stoic attitude but his eyes held conflict in them. He breathes as he glares at the pale creator. "It is his choice, Denarius."

Erebus frowned and glanced over his shoulder at the frustrated creator. "We have another proposal since we all knew this could be an issue."

I tilted my head and then giggled at their bickering while wiping my eyes. "All of this to g-get me to bear seedlings?"

Erebus returned his focus to me and his eyes lit with amusement. He grabbed my hand with his gloved hands. I was starting to get used to the leathery fabric so I allowed it. "Give us one year of your time to gain your love."

I took time to sit there and consider what he was proposing to me. Did I have a choice?

I released a sigh. They seemed determined in their belief that this would work. My heart belonged to Deimos though...

It would be unfair to make anyone suffer when I knew my heart belonged to another. Could I try to love one of them? I felt weird like I was being auctioned off only that I get to choose who I go with. I needed to stay a little longer to figure out how to save my friend and save humanity.

"Okay," I breathed. "On one condition."

Remus cocked his brow.

"What is it that you desire, mon chéri?" Erebus asked me and I gasped. "You k-know French?!"

"Out of all Earth languages, I became intrigued with that one specifically because humans call it the language of love," he explained.

"I-It is," I clarified.

"Does that mean you will feel the deepest of love for me if I speak more of this language?" Erebus asked and his eyes swirled with curiosity. One would think he's joking but he was terribly serious.

I wiped away the tears on my flushed cheeks and giggled at his question. "I-It's actually just a beautiful language t-they speak. It doesn't m-make others fall in love w-with you."

His brows knitted together until he rose to his feet, all towering over me. "Give us one year, Micah. One of us will surely win your heart."

"O-Only if you all c-call off your immortals and I w-want to see m-my family," I softly demanded but bit my lip once I heard his harsh tone.
