"Thank you, we can go to the table and work for a little bit," I say taking my mcflurry and bringing him to our dining area.

"Thanks for doing this today, is it okay if I ask why you didn't come to school today?" he asks.

"Just personal reasons that I kind of don't want to delve into right now," I answer watching as he takes a seat and rifles through his bag for his calculus folder.

We work on calculus a lot longer than we did on Tuesday and by the time we're done Charlie has finished making dinner.

"I made you some too Anthony so that way you don't have to go home hungry," Charlie informs him.

"Thank you for taking me into consideration Charlotte," Anthony responds.

"I think this is a good place to stop for today anyways, lets pack up and then we can eat dinner," I say putting the pencils we used away.

We eat dinner in a sort of tensed silence, I can tell based off of how Charlie is the main sohrce of the tension that Anthony failed the big sister, legal guardian judgement test. I mentally shake my head, he's done nothing to prove that he's not worthy of my trust. After dinner I say goodbye to Anthony before heasing back to my room for bed. As I'm trying to fall asleep I get a text from him.

Anthony

So Charlotte doesn't like me lol

Theodore

Its that she's overprotective.

Anthony

Whatever you say Teddy.

The nickname makes my heart warm, and I push the feeling away before turning my phone off and plugging it in and trying to fall asleep.

In the morning I'm up and ready to have a great day, I'm truly awake and all caught up on my sleep. I'm excited to see Anthony in both of the classes we have together I'm grateful he didn't pry last night about why I wasn't at school. When I get to school I head straight to the library where Naveeah is and I take a seat next to her and pull out a book to read.

"Yo nerd will you proofread my essay?" she asks lightly kicking my shin.

"Yeah, am I looking for anything in particular?" I ask grabbing the laptop and scrolling to the top of the document.

"Typos, things that don't make any logical sense, and overall flow. But please make it snappy this thing has to be printed and turned in by first hour and those printers are not forgiving," Naveeah says and I can't tell if she's joking or not.

"Okay I can just skim through as best I can," I respond scrolling through and read every three or four words, "Looks fine to me, have fun printing that," I tell her handing her laptop back.

Naveeah flips me off before disappearing to go and print her essay. I sigh and head to my first hour. First hour passes quite fast and I'm too excited for my second hour. Stop thinking about him, he's straight, AND we don't want a repeat of last year minus the crazy Brenda thing. I nod in my head, agreeing with my thoughts for once before I take my seat and wait for Anthony to take his beside me. Anthony makes it just before the bell rings. When it does Mrs. Grant takes attendance and then promptly begins the class.

"Thanks for your help I'm feeling a lot more confident in calc," Anthony whispers to me.

"Its no big deal, I don't mind. Plus its getting me extra practice too," I respond with a smile.

He smiles back before we pay attention to the movie Mrs. Grant has playing. My next few hours are dull and I'm honestly just excited for the weekend, I need two back to back days of just me and Charlie, my social battery is so low I'm surprised I'm functioning. I wait in the library after school, not wanting a repeat of Wednesday, even I know that it won't, at least not so soon. I don't even know what she wanted which is the scariest part. Finally around 3:45 I get a text from Charlie letting me know she's out front waiting for me, I say goodbye to Naveeah who has been mindlessly writing notes, and doodles in her notebook the whole time.

"Hey Teddy Grahams!" Charlie exclaims when I get in the car.

"Hi Charlie!" I respond matching her energy.

"I was thinking maybe we should movie marathon tomorrow? As many scooby doo movies as our minds can physically take in," Charlie suggests making my brain hum with excitement.

"Definitely, I need some Scooby Doo in my life, maybe they can find the person behind Brenda's mask, just kidding she was the mastermind," I joke making Charlie chuckle.

"I think I'm going to go out and buy some popcorn tonight, want to come with me or stay at home?" She asks turning onto our street.

"I think I'll just stay home I'm probably going to do my homework and then sleep I'm exhausted," I explain.

"Yeah that makes sense, I'll let you out here, make sure to lock the door once you're inside and to be safe, if you want you can have a glass of wine but no more I don't want to handle you hungover. I know how hard it can be to keep pushing when you're already at your limit just take a breather and absorb the moment," Charlie says empathizing with me.

"Thanks I probably won't drink any wine I'll just sleep, I don't really want to deal with me hungover, cause I don't have alcohol tolerance," I respond hopping out of the car.

"Alright well the offer still stands, I'll be back soon I love you, goodnight Teddy Grahams," Charlie says waving.

"I love you too Charlie," I wave before closing the car door and heading into the house. I set my bag down, grab a banana from the kitchen and head to my room to sleep.
