A/N: I'm sorry this chapter is short but I wanr to end it with a cliffhanger and I posted three days in a row so no complaining accepted.
Fenris' POV:
"PERSEUS JACKSON." Oh what a great start. "Hi dad." I said. My dad continued to completely ignore me. Ouch.
Now, to give you a bit of a vision of what my dad looked like: He was at least ten feet tall, for on thing, and dressed in black silk robes and a crown of braided gold. His skin was albino white, his hair shoulder-length and jet black. He wasn't bulked up like Ares, but he radiated power. He lounged on his throne of fused human bones, looking lithe, graceful, and dangerous as a panther.
Yes. That's my dad. I inherited his length, pale skin and black hair.
"Soo.. Uncle.." Percy started. Oh no way he just said that. Hades barely tolerates me calling him dad. (He likes 'father' more, which I don't mind. Anything to be in his favor)
"I kinda have two requests." Hades didn't need to move an inch to show to us all he did not like what Percy just said.
"You think you can do that?" My dad almost screamed. How badly I wished my stepmom was here right now. Yes, Persephone doesn't like me a lot but she tolerates me, and Hades' anger and is even able to calm my dad down. Not entirely, but it's something basically no one else can do so no one complains.
"How dare you keep up this pretense, after everything you've done?"
"What?" Percy said. "What have I done wrong?"
Now it was time for my.. assumptions, to be confirmed. "War means death, boy! I can't handle that! The underworld already has way to much souls, it's draining my riches!"
Oh. I didn't know those last 4 words.. And then you gotta remember I have spent serious time down here...
Okay I'm not saying I feel neglected, or something. Oh fuck no. From before my rime before camp, that's being called neglected. Main reason I ran away, found a place here. Then at Camp. Although I do have to say the underworld sounded about a thousand times better, considering everyone's thoughts up there. Especially with the latest.. events.
"I don't have the master bolt. No, what I think is that you have it, boy, to help your dad start a war!" Hades snapped. "And just because you could you also decided to steal my own symbol of power, my helm of darkness? Underworld no!"
This didn't look good. None of us said a word, we were all almost as pale as Hades own skin. When dad's angry, he's angry. I usually hid when he'd go into a state of rage, and let me tell you, he was very close to going into one.
"Let me tell you this, boy, and all of you demigods here: return my helm of darkness. Or I will stop death!"
"I don't know where the helm is, uncle!" Percy said.
"You're lying. I can proove it. Check your backpack, boy. Any thoughts on how it suddenly got so heavy?"
Percy checked his backpack. "What the.." Heja said as soon as Percy pulled something out. The Master Bolt.
"Now give it to me." Hades said. "With my helm. If not, you can say bye bye to your mommy."
With that Hades made a glowing image of Ms. Jackson appear in the air. She was frozen in time, her eyes wide, her face blue. I remembered the night Percy had arrived. He mumbled something about a minotaur and his mom, which now gave me the opportunity to put the pieces together.
Minotaur kills Ms. Jackson, Dad stops minotaur, kidnaps Ms. Jackson, holds her hostage.
"Dad!" I said. "You can't do that!" I saw something flicker in Hades's eyes. Guilt? It disappeared in a nanosecond, but I still saw it.
"The helm and the bolt." Hades said again, although maybe he just said it for himself.. "Or your mom's stay here will be forever."
"Maybe the pearls.." Percy started. "Only have seven, boy. There are 8 of you with your mom."
Percy felt silent. Shit. Hades was right. One person had to be left behind. I think everyone would've volunteered.
Percy then got a determined look on his face again. He handed each of us a pearl. All of us. "I'm coming back for you, mom." Percy said to the glowing image. "Let me now just make sure there will be a world left for you to return to."
Hades got confused, but we were already smashing the pearls. "Bye father." I said. "Still deciding whether I want our next meeting to be soon or not in a very long time." I mean, can you blame me for feeling left out? Hades told Percy stuff in a rage I never heard before. Barely acknowledged my presence. I brushed it off as the tension. I knew dad would treat me differently, better, in different circumstances. I mean, how else did I survive almost half a decade here?
The now broken pearls turned into big bubbles we got sucked in. They were strong, strong enough to bring ud back to the surface. Three minutes later we were on the beach again. Santa Monica Bay.
"Guys, it was a trick." Annabeth immediately said. "Someone else put the gods up against each other!"
"Ares gave me the backpack..." Percy mumbled. "How could.."
"Guys.." Bea said. In the distance, we all saw it. Los Angeles was on fire. "It's the morning of the summer solstice. Tonight we gotta be in Olympus."
"I know." Percy said. "But first, let's have a talk with the god who tricked us all."
Ella's POV:
"Ay this is gunna be fun. Dad's gunna tear 'em a new one." I said to Luke, a devilish grin appearing on my face.
