CHAPTER FIVE ; DEAD GIRL WALKING
season 2 episode 4
———

SELENE SHIVERED IN THE COLD NIGHT AIR BREEZE, her arms wrapped around herself as she rocked back and forth to keep warmth while her lips quivered.

"Digging would keep you warm." Dean grumbled, looking up at her from inside the grave that he and Sam were currently digging. Then, he always happened to tug off his jacket and angrily threw off his jacket at her. The leather hitting her in the face, as Dean then added, "Next time, bring your jacket."

Selene didn't argue on that one as she happily took it and slipped it on, using it to hug herself and trapping the warmth inside her, "Sorry boys, wouldn't want to mess up my first grave digging."

"Next one is all on you, princess." Dean told her, rolling his eyes as he once again grabbed his shovel. "You aren't of the hook till you've done the dirty work."

The reason that the Winchester boys were digging up their dead girls grave was because they had gone and talked to Angela Manson's male best friend, and he had told them that Angela's boyfriend was cheating on her. Further proving Dean's vengeful spirit idea.

At that moment, Sam's shovel hit something hard. Making the sound echo through their ears, making their conversation end abruptly. Selene holds up her flashlight from her pocket, shining a light onto the coffin as she walked Sam and Dean pry it open.

Her light was able to reveal that inside the coffin was—nothing. No body. No dead girl. Just an empty coffin.

"Does this usually supposed to happen?" Selene asked the two, and they both turned their heads to look at her in sync as they gave her a look telling her that this is far from the normal. "Bodies don't just disappear, guys. Where is she?"

"Thanks, Sherlock." Dean rolled his eyes, "They buried her body four days ago."

Sam stares down at the empty coffin, his eyes curious as the gears in his brain moving. "I don't get it."

That's when something catches Selene's eyes, and she crouches down next to the grave, using her light to get a closer look. "What is that?" She asked, as she pointed to it, both of the brothers following her gaze as they also now saw it.

On the root of the coffin was some markings, Selene can tell that she recognizes it, but from her distance it was hard to tell. So, Selene made the decision to put a hand on Sam's shoulder to help herself down into the dug grave.

The boys were confused by her actions, and she could only bend down even more to get a closer look at the markings. Tracing her finger over them as it seemed to click in her mind.

"It's ancient greek. It's apart of an Ancient Greek divination ritual, with a ritual like this one you can use it to communicate with the dead or..." Selene trailed off, turning her head to look up at the boys, "It can also be used to bring corpses back to life."

Sam and Dean shared a confused look before Sam confusingly asked, "How do you know that?"

Selene only blinked a few times, forgetting for a moment how she truly came to know this information. The truth was she tried to use this ritual, but since she had no body to use on her brother...it didn't work.

The only reason that Selene could muster up was, "I read a lot, you guys know this."

Dean nods his head, accepting this answer, "That explains two things, that she's a nerd and where our body went."
