There was a foreboding grey cloud of billowing smoke that curled and coiled its tendrils around the hideout. Zero stood behind the thick trunks of the trees that were in the forest. There were around fifty men that were in the military trucks.

The orange flames from the house lit up their faces. She had been barely trying to keep a calm demeanour like Namjoon asked until she heard the laughter that haunted her nightmares. The President was there.

Zero ran towards the fleet of army cars. She skidded to a stop before grabbing the legs of one of the men who was polishing his gun and tossed him towards the burning house.

They all lifted their weapons towards her standing figure. The man screamed rose high as the flames devoured him.

The military formed a line of defence in front of their commander-in-chief.

They popped open the trunks of their cars which had anti-mutant weapons.

Zero walked closer, unphased by the weapons they held against her. She knew that Nanna was dead. She was going to make sure that whoever was responsible would pay with their lives.

'Kill them all'

Her frightened voice chanted to her in her head over and over.

Mr Park smiled when he saw her. He was happy that she wasn't burning in the house so he could kill her himself.

'Zero, I never expected you to turn out to be a criminal', he said in a mocking tone.

He snapped his finger and one of the men handed over a gun.

'Because of you, I was unable to save a lot of precious people in the Golden City. Why did you steal the suppressors?', he asked.

She didn't respond even when he pointed his gun towards her.

He tutted at her.

'You're still as rude as ever. Since I'm in a good mood I'll reveal something to you', he said in a sarcastic voice.

'You were looking for the cure right?', he asked.

Her eyes widened in size. He smiled when he was able to get a reaction out of her.

His maniacal cackling was no different from the cackling of the flames.

'You must have thought that if you get the cure, you would become a human right?'.

Zero backed away. She wanted to cover her ears to stop hearing his voice.

'The truth is that you can never be human. You were made to be a monster as per my request'.

Zero shook her head.

'There is no cure in this world that will help you', he stated with a cruel smile painted on his lips.

Zero's head drooped down. Everything she ever believed in was being ripped apart. Everything she had worked so hard for was crumbling down. That must have been what death felt like. Fate was as cruel to her as her violent hands were to humans.

The first man who broke the line of defence had approached her with a knife. He wanted to take advantage of her distracted state.

Her hand reached to grab his neck and crushed it as he impaled her torso.

He crumpled to the ground and she pulled the knife from her body.

She threw it and it landed on one of the eye sockets of the military soldiers. The man, despite the rigorous training he underwent to become a part of the anti-mutant squad, was unable to withstand the pain and crumpled to the ground. The rest of them proceeded to open fire at her.
