When the dead started walking... I was small, but not alone. I had my childhood best friend and now girlfriend Clementine Marsh with me. It was just us for a bit until a man named Lee became our protector. Lee protected other people too. But he couldn't save everyone. That's impossible. I let a man die in order to save somebody else who I didn't know would become important to me in the future. But unfortunately, the living were just as dangerous as the dead. A woman in our group named Lilly lost her dad. And then she just couldn't cope. She tried to take the life of the person Lee and I saved named Carley, but I was faster than her. I was able to save Carley's once again. But...Lee left her on the side of the road. Lee taught Clem and I how to survive, but it wasn't just him. Carley, the woman we'd saved, began a romance with him and they became a couple. And sometime later we'd meet Molly, she'd become like our sister, our family. And because of her, we learned even more valuable things. Although no matter how prepared you are things can always go bad as is the way of this...hell.
Lee protected us as long as he could. But he got bit, due to poor decisions made by Clem. But I never blamed her and I never will. Even as he laid dying, he was still teaching us in the end. He told Clem to keep her hair short, but told me to keep her safe and of course I've kept my word. He wouldn't make it. He knew it was the end. He made his final request. It was for us to kill him.
