- I N A Y A T' S P O V•

I sat on the bed, surrounded by packed bags. I was finally returning home after seven long years. The thought of facing my family, whom I'd left behind in 12th class, filled me with anxiety. What would I say to Papa, Mumma, Bhai, and my grandparents? My chain of thoughts broke when my phone buzzed. It was Ayaan. We chatted for a bit before I switched off my phone and got ready to leave.

Leaving home at 17, I was now 24. Seven years had passed, but I'd stayed informed about my family's life.

Location: Gupta's Mansion

•A U T H O R' S P O V•

A boy slept peacefully until a mischievous figure, around 19-20 years old, burst in with a jug of water and drenched his face. The boy jolted awake, screaming. He wiped his face and vowed, "Aditya, I'll kill you!" before chasing after him.

Aditya laughed, taunting, "You can't catch me, bhai!"
Ahaan and Aditya tore through the mansion, their playful banter echoing.

Suddenly, Aditya bumped into a girl and fell. "Shit! Bhai, will you help me or not? See, your favorite brother fell down," Aditya said, looking at Ahaan.

Ahaan was shocked and tearful. "Bhai, what happened?"

Aditya tried to see the girl's face, but the sun's rays obstructed his view. He shielded his eyes and finally saw her.

She wore a white shirt, long blazer, and jeans, her hair cascading down her back. A warm smile spread across her face as she offered Aditya her hand to help him up.

"What's this, Adi? You bumped into me, and you fell, not me. See, girls' power!" she teased, winking.

Aditya enveloped her in a tight hug. "Why did you leave me, us? I missed you so much, and you... didn't even message me or come home to tie me a rakhi on Raksha Bandhan."

"I know I left, and I missed you all too," she replied, breaking the hug. "Who said I didn't?"

She turned to Ahaan, who hugged her tightly, scolding, "Who told you to leave home? Without you, this house isn't home. For six years, I bought gifts for you on Raksha Bandhan. What couldn't we give you?"

"It's not like that," she explained. "I left to build my career, nothing else. You can give me all the gifts now, and I promise never to leave you guys again. Go change your clothes; I know Aditya did this."
Here's the edited version:

A girl stepped outside, calling out, "Ahaan bhai, Aditya, come inside for breakfast-"

But her words trailed off as she froze, stunned.

Rubbing her eyes, she wondered if it was a dream. "What the hell? Is this real? Is Inayat didi actually here, bhai?" she asked Ahaan, her voice trembling.

Ahaan nodded, a warm smile spreading across his face. Aditya chimed in, "Shivangi, can't you see Inayat didi right there? You're so blind, God couldn't you give her better eyesight? She can't even see my beautiful sister!"

Shivangi ignored Aditya's teasing and burst into tears. Inayat rushed to console her, embracing Shivangi tightly.

Shivangi suddenly dashed inside, calling out, "Mom, Dad, Badi Maa, Bade Papa, Dadu, Dadi! Come see who's here!"

The trio followed, and one by one, the family members emerged, their faces filled with joy and surprise.

INAYAT'S POV

Chacha and Chachi approached Shivangi, standing in the hall's center, while my brothers and I stood at the entrance. I saw Mom, Dad, Dada Ji, and Dadi Ji coming toward Shivangi, concern etched on their faces. Shivangi smiled, her eyes sparkling.

Everyone asked her questions, but she simply pointed at me, her silence speaking volumes. The room fell silent.

After two minutes, Chacha and Chachi hugged me, followed by Dada and Dadi, who scolded me affectionately. Mom and Dad arrived, Mom embracing me tightly, tears streaming down her face.

"Mom, please, my ear!" I pleaded, but she wouldn't relent.

"Your father and I suffered more when you left," she whispered, her voice trembling.

Dad intervened, "Savita, gentle with her ear."

I rushed into his arms, tears flowing. "Inayat, my daughter, why did you leave? Every day, I longed for your return. We cried for you, Inayat. Never leave us again, please."

I sobbed, "I'm sorry, Dad. My intentions weren't bad. I missed you all every second. I wanted to succeed, and I did. I promise never to leave again."

Dada Ji's voice cracked, "We love you, granddaughter. Never think of leaving us. This old man missed you"

"You're not old, Dadu," I teased, and the room filled with laughter. In this moment, surrounded by my family, I felt complete.

Heyyy!! How's the chapter?

Since English is not my first language you are going to find a lot of grammatical as well as spelling errors in the book. I haven't proofread most of the chapters but I promise you that you will find improvements in my writing before the end of the book if you are patient enough to ignore the errors.
