Fuck, "No, I- ugh," he winces, "I didn't want to surprise you, Shinsou and Yamada told me to!"
"Well, you did it! Consider us surprised," Todoroki grabs his hand, pulling him towards the bed, "Cmon, we were about to start studying."
Deku explains that Aizawa would have them sign a nonformal agreement the next day and that he wasn't allowed any access to their devices whatsoever. Neither seems to care.
Todoroki's plants himself on the bed, unloading his school bag.
"Do you want the desk?" Bakugo asks.
The other boy chuckles to himself, "You never let me use your desk."
The glare loses its effect because of his red tinted ears. So cute, Deku thinks to himself as his soulmate grumbles, "You never ask."
Deku agrees to just sit on the floor. He was supposed to be surprising them, yet he finds himself shocked at the twos routine.
They're actually productive when they study together?
Before settling at his desk, he tosses Todoroki a hoodie and asks, "Fifteen or ten minutes to start?"
"Ten please."
He raises an eyebrow at the exchange, watching from the floor as Bakugo sets an old egg timer, "Are you okay listening to music when you study?"
Deku blinks, nodding slowly. His confusion grows more when he sees Todoroki pulling on a pair of headphones.
His unspoken question is answered, "Shoto uses expensive noise cancelling headphones so he can focus."
"You don't?"
His faint memory of being led to his house when they were younger lingers. It was a nice area, and a really nice house. It even had a yard.
"They put too much pressure on my ears, makes me feel suffocated," he shrugs.
Deku was capable of focusing in any environment, as long as others weren't trying to engage him in conversation. Music, however, picqued his interest.
Of course, he'd heard songs every now and again. From alleyways outside of clubs, in convenience stores and diners, occasionally in a lab. But it wasn't until he got here that it grabbed his attention.
Just Dance with Eri was very fast paced and energetic. Studying with Shinsou was much calmer, hardly any of the songs had actual words, but it made him feel calm.
Bakugos music also had him relaxing. Even with his textbook and notes in front of him, he hears the stories in the words of the songs. They were warm and peaceful, comforting in a simple way.
It makes the time pass by quickly.
When the timer goes off, Bakugo stops it and tosses a crumpled sticky note towards the bed. Todoroki looks up, looking a bit tired as his headphones rest against his neck, "Thanks, love."
Deku tilts his head as the boys attention goes directly towards his phone while the other focuses on his book.
What was the point of coming over here to do just what he always did?
He leans forward, reaching up to poke his boyfriends foot, "Hey, Roki-kun."
Shotos smile is somehow even sweeter than when they first met, "What's up?"
If anyone tried to give him shit for this, he could just say I'm a naturally curious person or I may as well learn something while people distract me. Yeah, he could say that.
