The crisp September air was cool yet still warm enough to not wear a sweater. Her hair chased in the winds along with the first leaves to fall for autumn. She wore some nice baggy black jeans with a band tee crop top she had DIYed back with her friends at home.
She was glad her parents decided to move at the end of summer and before school started. She got to spend her last summer with her old friends and to make the most of it. As well as avoiding moving into a new school in the middle of their curriculum.
Y/n watched as the middle school bus began to drive away. She had just dropped Paige off at her bus stop, watching as she stepped onto the bright yellow tin can, and being whisked away.
I guess it was nice that now they got to ride actual school buses instead of having to take the subways. The things she saw in those trains she would never forget. "HEYY!! Y/N!" yelled a familiar voice from behind her.
Swiftly turning to look at the source she saw a the lanky boy jogging to catch up and the familiar blue haired boy calmly walking behind him. She waved and greeted them with a 'Good morning'. "Digging the fit Y/n! You ready for your first day as the new girl?" Larry laughed as he nudged her.
She rolled her eyes while smiling, "Not necessarily, I'm not the best with meeting new people." she responded. "But you spoke to us so easily!" Sal said with shock dripping in his voice.
She began to scratch her head a bit, "Ha, yeah even then my heart felt like imploding because I was so nervous about messing up!" "Even so I still think you'll ace it Y/n!" Larry cheered on as their bus soon rolled to a stop.
The trio hopped onto the bus, sitting down all the way in the back. She had known the town was small, but she wasn't expecting everyone to immediately recognise her as a new student. She grew nervous as she began to fidget with her own fingers.
Glancing over Sal leant over the aisle between their seats. "Do you want me to sit with you instead?" he whispered as to not worry Larry. She nodded as she scooted over in the seat.
"Thank you." "I know what it's like being the new kid." he whispered back as he threw in a light laugh. This didn't go unnoticed by Larry however. He only gave Sal a knowing look, with Sal signalling him to cut it out.
Just before the bus closed its doors a boy with curly ginger hair and glasses ran to the bus. Larry and Sal both perked up, "Todd come join us!" Larry yelled as he patted the seat next to him. The ginger boy beamed upon seeing his friends.
"Hey guys!" he greeted before laying eyes on the girl beside Sal. "What's up dude, damn I thought you forgot it was the first day! Pinkie Pie over here is named Y/n by the way. She's the new girl living in 403 we were telling you about!" Larry said introducing the two. "Nice to meet you, I've been waiting to see the mastermind behind the magical gameboy." she said giggling a bit.
Todd smiled before explaining the mechanics and how he came about building the thing and about the wild things they all did with it in the apartments. She sat and listened to the three boys tell their wild stories with such passion.
'Maybe her first day wouldn't be so difficult.'

Their bus soon pulled into the school roundabout. It was quite the average looking school, nothing out of the usual other than it being more suburban looking than her old city school. The four of them piled out of the bus, following the sidewalk down to the entrance of the school.
"We'll meet up with you and Ash in a sec, we gotta take Ms.New Kid over here to the main office for her schedule." Larry stated before waving to Todd who gave him a thumbs up. "Lead the way man!" Sal laughed before steering Larry by his book bag.
The trio walked into the main office where one women sat at a desk, presumably a receptionist. It smelled like dust and sanitiser with a small desk fan that would make one eat the smell when it blew air in a certain direction.
The old woman looked up from her computer, she glanced at the three smiling at Sal and Y/n but giving Larry a look of disapproval. "Good morning y'all, what brings y'all in here today?" she asked in a scratchy voice.
"Um, I'm new to this school system and was wondering if I could get a copy of my schedule ma'am." "Of course sweetheart, what's your last name?" she asked while typing something into her keyboard.
"L/n, ma'am." "Alright...here we go." she the stood, shuffling over to the now buzzing printer. She gave it one good smack before the paper finally began to print out. Sighing in content she grabbed the fresh piece of paper and handed it over.
"Here you go sweetheart, welcome to Nockfell High." she said with a warm smile. "Thank you, have a nice day!" Y/n replied before walking out the office with the two boys behind her.
"What did you do to that old woman to make her give you such looks?" Y/n laughed as they got further away. Sal snorted at this question, "HEY! I just get a fair amount of detentions in my day no biggie." Larry replied while crossing his arms.
"Sureee."
