The elevator came to a halt as it hit the bottom floor. The doors slowly slid open, letting her step onto the clean tile that the basement owned. Looking around there were shelves of cleaning supplies and maintenance supplies.
It smelled of Fabuloso and fresh detergent. Maybe she could ask Lisa if she could borrow some of that Fabuloso for her room. She began to walk around, she found a big vending machine with some pretty good snacks. She'd definitely bring some change with her next time and grab a pack of some chips.
As well as of course, a bright green door labelled 1B. Y/n grew fidgety as she stepped closer. God she was nervous to talk to someone her own age, she was not the best at socialising. She stood in front of the door trying to think of the words to say.
She could hear music leak from the door, however she soon began to recognise the music that played. It was Sanity's Fall! Now she had an even bigger reason not to fuck up! Not only would they be useful for school to be friends with but they shared an interest!
Slowly she raised her jittery fist up to the door before knocking. She opted to knock a little louder than normal since they had music on inside and didn't want to be too quiet for them to hear.
She waited for a moment before hearing the music pause, followed by some footsteps. Her heart began to race as the steps grew closer to the door. The door opened exposing a lanky looking boy with long dark hair.
He had a lazy smile and eyes that showed the whites under his irises. His nose was prominent yet fit his face all so much along with a mole under his eye. He was two or three inches taller than Y/n making her even more nervous.
"Yo, what can I help you with little dudette?" he asked with a slight smile, one similar to his mother's. He had a small gap in his front teeth making him all that more friendlier in appearance.
"Oh um, sorry to bother you but I just moved in upstairs in room 403 and your mom said that I should meet you? NOT THAT I'M FORCING MYSELF RIGHT NOW THOUGH!" she explained nervously while playing with the hem of her band tee.
The taller boy laughed a little, "It's almost like deja vu right now. You seem alright new girl, the name's Larry. If you're comfortable you can come in and chill with me and Sal." Larry offered while stepping aside in the doorway.
"I'd actually really like that! Thank you Larry, my name's Y/n by the way." she said feeling a little more relieved. Upon stepping in she noticed how similar the apartment looked to hers. It's safe to assume the rooms had similar layouts.
Larry led Y/n to his room, "Look dude I caught the new girl from 403!" Larry announced as he barged into the room. There sat a blue haired person with pigtails. They had on a white mask that held a patch of pink on the right corner. They were definitely going to be an interesting person to get to know.
"This is Sal, or you can call him Sally it's whatever! He's actually in the room next door to you in 402!" Larry introduced the two. "Well nice to meet you Sal, I'm Y/n. I really like your hair by the way! we're like matching right now with cotton candy colours!" she greeted as she sat in the third beanbag.
The boy laughed a little at the compliment, the tips of his ears slightly pink. "Thanks I'm digging the pink, I guess we are matching a bit." "SEE! It is like deja vu! My mom told you to come down here too when you moved in way back last year!" Larry exclaimed mind absolutely blown.
The girl laughed, "Oh! Not to seem weird or anything but I heard you guys listening to Sanity's Fall when I knocked. I fucking love that band!" Larry and Sal both snapped their heads towards the girl causing her to jump. "NO WAY!!" Larry screamed like a kid in a candy store. Despite not being able to see Sal's expression she could see his eyes widen a bit in shock.
Larry soon enough jumped up and unpaused his record they had been playing earlier. However he did lower the volume a bit so they could continue getting to know each other. "So where'd you come in from?" Larry asked as he plopped down onto the beanbag between them.
"From New York...I kinda miss it right now." she said bittersweetly. "Sick! Hey Sal weren't you from New Jersey?!" Larry asked. "Yeah dude but I'm sure New York is more exciting." "You're damn right it's better." Y/n teased a bit.
"Yeah yeah, but how um...How are you finding the new room by the way?" Sal asked cautiously while glancing at Larry. The girl cocked an eyebrow before glancing between the two. "Is there something I should be worried about here?" she asked carefully while fully sitting up now.
"Well–Answer the question first..." Larry said while nodding at Sal. She felt her nerves spike up again. "Um...I guess this building does creep me out a little bit...My room seems normal I think? The carpet is stained a bit in some places and my room reeks of bleach." she responded as she began to pick at the holes in her ripped jeans.
"Why are you both so cryptic right now though whats wrong with my room?" she asked nervously as she glanced between the two boys. "Well there's something you need to know about room 403 Y/n." Sal said.
"Someone's been murdered in there."
