Somewhat inspired by the Castlevania Nexflix Series (If you haven't seen it, you should)

Mihawk might be bit OOC in this, but I tried to stay on the stoic, impartial, firm, and a little sassy (sometimes) backbone of Mihawk's character whilst also adding kinder and more romantic parts. This piece is way too long for me to go back and ponder his personality (even if I really want to 😭) because I have spent way too much time on this. I only intend it to be like 3000 - 6000 words, but I got carried away trying to make somewhat believable relationships and stuff, and here we are. I didn't even add everything I wanted to 😀 so sorry if things seem to go by to quickly because there are a lot of time jumps and different sections.

Idk if this story is convoluted, but I tried to keep everything relevant and in line with the oneshot. I hope you like it anyway ❤️.

Once again, any constructive criticism and spelling/grammar correction is welcome as long as you aren't mean/rude.

Golden eyes studied the woman below him. She stumbled and staggered around the forest a few miles from the foot of his castle. She appeared as harmless as a deer but with great determination as she pushed through the forest in the wrong direction once again. She amused him greatly as she went astray once more in the sparsely populated forest. How she got lost in such a small area with the castle in sight he could not understand. She intrigued him. What business did she have here if she did not wish to fight or kill him. With no weapons bar, a small hunting knife on her person, it was evident she had not arrived him with intention of harm. The man sipped at red liquid in the glass placed within his hands, eyes not leaving the dishevelled woman.

By the time she had finally arrived at the door and hour had passed. The man watched on even till now as she strode forwards towards the door. He thought intensly about what he should do next. He wanted to hear why she was here, such an interesting visitor she was. No visitors have been to his castle in a while, and none have seemingly come for something other than the gratification of a duel. A duel always lost. He would hear her out before he made his decision. He could strike her down where she stood, but things have been too boring in this castle for over a century, and he needed some entertainment. He will see how things go. He hoped she was as engrossing as she seemed. It had been a while since he had been able to talk to another like mined being.

You gazed at the castle before its imposing size quite the spectical. Its black stone walls and towers seemed to beckon you in, so you answered their call and walked towards the door. Bloody spikes surrounded the threshold of the building, yet no bodies were impaled on their points. That was a positive. You knocked on the door three times when you heard the loud sounds echoing inside of the building. The room behind the door must be quite vast. After a few moments passed, the giant door creaked open, yet no one appeared behind it.

You walked slowly into the room, cautious of it opening but determined to enter anyways because you had already come so far to turn back now. As you slowly entered further into the castle, the door steadily closed behind you, leaving you with only the candle light to aid your vision.
"Excuse me, is anyone there?" You spoke as you stood still observing your surroundings. Not a single movement or noise. How rude to not even greet your guest, you thought. You slowly stepped forwards pulling your scarf closer to your face as a chilly breeze flowed through the entrance way, seemingly appearing from nowhere.
