Damian slowed his pace along the never ending Gotham rooftop, slowing until his steps finally stopped and he wasn't moving forward anymore. Hovering behind and glancing down at his perfectly lazed set of boots. All of his robin costume had been neat and perfect, looking his best in it.

His favourite outfit had always been the Robin one. His Robin. Partner to his Batman. Robin didn't belong to neither his father nor his mother. It was his. He had turned the title into his own personal second life. Robin had broken him free from Al Ghul and Wayne.

He loved the costume, took great care of the gear and held pride over the Robin name. Robin had became his new bloodline, a new legacy that he'd never outgrow even as his hero name and outfits might have changed. Robin was home for him, he'd finally felt safe and loved.

"I do not want to leave.." Damian announced as he stared over the edge of the rooftop, staring down at his favourite view from his favourite rooftop in Gotham. The rooftop that held the most meaning to him.

"None of us ever did, kid" Jason admitted with a frown, hands tucked in his jacket as he hovered to the side of the younger boy. Looking out at the view given by the rooftop and seeing what was chosen for the younger boy.

"Richard will cry" Damian huffed back, sounding irritated over the statement but both knew it was an act. A false bravery their father had trained into them.

"He's survived this before. He'll adapt and survive once more" Jason promised as he glanced down at his own pair of shoes, knowing how this would end. How it always ended.

"Father will blame himself" Damian added on as he started walking again, picking up the pace as they carried on walking along the same never ending rooftop.

"Always will" Jason admitted softly, lifting his gaze to the night sky above, taking notice over the dark locks of hair strangers that filtered in the corner of his eyes, no matter what direction he looked in.

"I do not wish to leave them alone. Richard doesn't deserve to be alone. Father will self destruct again. I'll be at fault for it" Damian

"You're not to blame. You held no control over this. None of us never did" Jason calmly reassured the boy, needing him to know the truth. To know he's not to blame nor he held any power to stop this.

"I don't wish to go.." Damian quietly and weakly choked out as he fought back the big, fat tears filling his eyes and threatening to fall.

"We can't stay. We never can. No matter how much we want to or beg. We all leave" Jason yelled back as he watched the boy start heading back in the direction they came from, trying to turn back.

"Richard will never forgive himself. I can't leave him to suffer alone. He'll feel as if he's failed us again" Damian snapped back, determined to find a way back and picking up the pace.

"You can't save him" Jason quietly confesses, already knowing neither of them were going back again.

"Richard will distract himself with healing Father. He'll put others before himself again. I won't allow it. I must save him from himself" Damian argued back stubbornly, letting his tears fall as he starts to run, trying to hurry back.
