"So the rules are clear... whoever will be able to lift and tie the threads of Shiv Dhanush, will marry Sita didi and become our Jija shree (brother in law). Omg.... I'm so excited.... " - Mandvi had been repeating this exact same line again and again after the declaration of Sita's Swayamvar by the suggestion of Lord Parshuram. Entire Mithila was super excited because their loving eldest princess Sita was going to get her other half.
Mandvi's question made sita smile gently. But she didn't say anything in reply. Instead of her, Urmila said frustratedly - " can you just sit and breathe silently for a moment, Mandvi didi. You have been always in a rush since last couple of days. Just have a sit and drink some water..."
The princesses were sitting at a big window inside Sita's room. The whole palace was busy in the preparation of the Swayamvar. Everybody was super happy. By calculating the position and movement of planets and stars, royal priest Shatanand had announced the auspicious day for the Swayamvar, which was coming just one week later. While entire Mithila was thrilled, sita was just reactionless and Urmila was super nervous.
" Ofcourse i can't sit in one place. I'm telling you should not sit at one place silently either. ain't you excited Urmila... our Sita didi is getting married. So many powerful kings and emperors will come to the swayamvar. The most powerful among all will win it and Sita didi will become the wife of that powerful king. "- Mandvi's excitement was reaching sky.
" It's not like that I'm not happy. It's gonna be a big day for Sita didi. How can I not be happy. But..... I'm just little tensed Mandvi didi."- the veins of tension appeared on her forehead with squinted eyes.
Sita was still silent and looking outside of the window. Since the of the announcement of her swayamvar, she had became this silent. She was just sitting quietly at her window, or on the stairs of the Gouri temple while being lost in her thoughts. Her eyes were calm but heart was restless. As if she is waiting for something or someone.Mandvi sat near Urmila and asked - " tensed ? But why ? "
Urmila sighed and took a pause before explaining the reason behind her her tenssion. - " see... i know many substantial kings will come. But no matter how powerful or strengthened they would be... will they be able to lift the shiv dhanush. I have seen many great warriors to visit mithila to see this mighty shiv dhanush. None of them had ever became able to even move it an inch. In our family also.... there are many supreme warriors, but nobody can move that bow. then... what if.... ??"
Urmila couldn't complete her sentence. And now Mandvi also understood the problem that Urmila was pointing out. But still she tried to console Urmila- " I can understand your dilema. But Lord Parshuram himself gave this idea. And if he said the swayamvar should happen in this way, then there must be reasons. Do you remember, he told that except Sita didi, only her soulmate will be able to lift the bow up. So this is clear that our sita didi will marry the right person. "
Urmila was not satisfied with her answer. Sita wanted an honest and loyal partner. What if that brave king, who will win the swayamvar won't be loyal to sita? What if he won't love Sita the way she had desired. Is just being a strong king with stupendous strength signifies a happy married life. All these questions had snatched peace from Urmila. On the other hand, Sita will leave Mithila forever after the marriage. Urmila will be separated from her beloved didi who is more like a motherly figure for her. This thing had raised her heart beat. Because she couldn't imagine a single second of her life without Sita. So she looked at Sita who was blankly looking out side the window. - " Didi... i want to hear from you. Afterall it's your life. The choices should be yours only. Are you happy about the descision of this swayamvar?"
Sita softly looked at urmila, who was sitting right beside her and smiled- " why do you think that I'm not happy? Ofcourse i am happy. Pitashree and maa had taken my permission before arranging the swayamvar. Who ever will win it, I'll happily put var mala in his neck. Because i believe in Lord Parshuram.
Urmila hugged Sita tightly. Couple of tear drops rolled down on her cheeks, when she closed her eyes in her didi's arms - " How will I live without you? I can't imagine my life without you. My days will be spent without seeing you, without talking to you, without holding your hands. I won't be able to survive didi. Probably i will die......"
Sita immediately put one of her palm on Urmila's lips- " Don't say like that. We will just physically be away from eachother. But our souls will always remain in contact. You are my reflection Urmi. Everytime I'll see myself, I'll see you as well. You will always be in my heart. "
Sita tightly embraced her little sister and shade tears as well. Then she heard some silence sobbing. It was Mandvi, who was crying as well by looking at a different direction, so that nobody will see her tears. But she couldn't hide it till long. And Sita pulled her into her arms as well. Both Mandvi and Urmila broke into tears in their elder sister's arms.
Suddenly they all heard the sound of payal, which was getting closer and closer. Sita's heartbeat increased dramatically, as if something she has been waiting for is getting close to her. Some moments later they saw Shrutkirti running to them and it was her payal's sound. From the expression of her it was clear that she has something amazing to tell.
" Sita didi..... Mandvi didi...... Urmila didi....... be quick...... pitashree returned from Maharshi Vishwamita's Ashram. " - As they had expected, it was a great news. So all of them ran to meet Kushadhwaj.
Janak and Sunaina had already welcomed Kushadhwaj. All of them were sitting at the common hall of the palace, where family members gather for meetings. After seeing their four princesses, Kushadhwaj's happiness doubled. He hugged them and blessed them one by one and at last he hugged Sita for a little longer. His eyes became numb and tear drops appeared at the corners of his eyes. His voice became windshield when he said - " I'm so happy my child. Your swayamvar is going to take place. You are going to find him, who has come to Earth for you. "
Sita tried her best to not cry but she also teared up including her other three sisters. After seeing them Sunaina and Chandrabhaga also shade some tears. Then Kushadhwaj spoke again- " It's unbelievable. It feels as if the baby sita was playing in my arms just yesterday. How did you grow up so fast, that your Swayamvar is happening."
Sita wipped Kushadhwaj's tears and made him sit first. Then slowly she spoke- " This is such a cruel rule of divine. Women always have to leave their loved ones behind and go to live with strangers. How can I fall out from this rule. But kaka shree. You have to be strong. You have to take care of maa, chhoti maa, and my sisters. Because i don't know how will they bid goodbye to me. "
Kushadhwaj wipped Sita's tears.- " Don't worry sita... I'm sure the best among all will win the swayamvar and hold your hands. " Sita just smiled gently.
" Can we just not talk about 'Sita didi going away from us'... i don't want to cry more and look ugly. " - Urmila said in a childish way which made everybody laugh and Mandvi pinched her cheeks.
Then Shrutkirti added- " yes pitashree... please tell us what happened at Maharshi Vishwamita's Ashram. How did those warrior brothers face Tarka ? "
Janak also joined Shrutkirti's request- " yes Kushadhwaj... I'm so excited to know about those warriors who defeated a demon like Tarka. "After hearing the questions, Kushadhwaj straightened his back and got ready to narrate the glorious bravery of the two warrior brothers infront of everyone.
